As an avid Jungle Cruise fanatic, Skipper Canteen is a dream come true. It has the atmosphere of a classic themed Disney restaurant. If you geek out over the puns and punch-lines of the Jungle Cruise attraction as much as I do, you will truly appreciate the decor and costuming. Disney did an excellent job of designing this skipper mess hall.

The staff was extraordinarily friendly. Every single cast member I encountered here went out of their way to make our experience pleasurable. Our skipper, John, was not only comical but extremely accommodating. I entered the "allergy request" before even setting foot in the Magic Kingdom. As John approached our table he was ready to cater to my gluten allergy as he highlighted everything on the menu that was safe for me to eat. Very knowledgable.

I ordered the punch line punch which tasted as great as it sounds. Definitely would recommend. Suffering from a gluten allergy, I don't get fried chicken a lot. John made it a point to point out that the fried chicken was naturally gluten free and it was EXCEPTIONAL. The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing and I cannot wait to go back. A must-do in the Magic Kingdom!

We ate here for lunch. The theming was very detailed and impressive. We tried the steak salad and shrimp dish and a couple others including dessert. The food was generally bland and not up to expectations. Nowhere near as impressive as Be Our Guest for lunch. The prices were very high for the quality of the dishes. Not likely to return until upgraded, which is inevitable once the word gets our based on our experience. WDW, how did this roll-out go so bad?
