Mission: SPACE at Walt Disney World's EPCOT has a new addition created through the combined efforts of Walt Disney Imagineering and NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover team.

The new display replicates the tread marks left by the Perseverance rover on the surface of Mars, using a borrowed prototype rover wheel.

Disney artists also added some surface collection tubes recreated through 3D printing.

Perseverance continues its mission on Mars to collect samples that a future mission could one day return to Earth.

Wish they'd change that sign.

I remember Disney saying how expensive this paint was, like $800 a quart or something.

Let me be clear, Mission Space IS NO HORIZONS! HORIZONS WAS GREAT! And I wish they ADDED Mission space and kept Horizons. Yes, it is a problem that a slow moving omnimover ride like Horizons was replaced by a intense thrill ride in Mission Space. At least they added the less intense trip around the Moon as a ride anyone can experience.

Lots of fancy words about a multi-million-dollar spin-and-puke...

I think this is one of those attractions which will be eternally weighed down by its history and the gravity of what it replaced. Much like Figment, Runaway Railway, and Stitch these discussions on the merit of the attraction must be predicated by what was lost to make it happen, and buy and large many agree the loss of Horizons makes this a net negative. And this comes from someone who never properly experienced Horizons.

Tell that to my record player...

It does not currently rotate

Last to leave due to their high elevation, the family from Denver. ;)

When it worked, it was more of a controlled rotation :p

Flat objects don't spin.

You think a picture can reveal if a non-descript orb is spinning? ;)
