Walt Disney World will once again participate in the "World's Largest Swimming Lesson". Previously at Typhoon Lagoon, this year's event will be at Blizzard Beach, and will also serve as the event headquarters.
The nation's top water safety and training organizations are joining forces to present The World's Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL), Thursday, June 14, 2012, to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. On June 14th, waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe will host local WLSL lessons simultaneously at 11am ET (3pm GMT) in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.
The lesson as Blizzard Beach will begin at 11am, with participants needing to register beginning 9am near the wave pool. Regular park entrance is required, and anyone aged 8 or older can take part alone, anyone under 8 must be accompanied.
According to Disney, Blizzard Beach will still be operating as normal during the day.
