Disney Research comes up with some pretty interesting stuff, and a recent project from Disney Research Zurich with students from a Swiss engineering school produced from scratch a beach-art robot called 'Beachbot.'

Where else better to test it out than the white sandy beach at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and with a very famous Disney face.

Visit the official Disney Parks Blog for more on the project.

Check out the time-lapse below, and then more about the project.

This is awesome!! Such a nice story after hearing about Hitchbot.. The hitch hiking robot who made it across Germany, Netherlands, and Canada only to come to the USA and be killed in Philadelphia. My new home. :(

Yep. Disney trains them very well. They are constantly tested too, to ensure they are aware and alert at all times.

haha! My husband said the very same thing.. said he was distracted and that he could almost set his watch by them. Very cool project with the sand art!

Nope, the Disney lifeguards are constantly on the move scanning the pool surface and floor.

I had to watch the video twice - the first time I was distracted by the lifeguard and forgot to watch the robo-artist. Very cool indeed.
