Welcome to the all-new WDWMAGIC website

We’ve been hard at work completely rewriting WDWMAGIC to make the site easier to use and more accessible on today’s wide variety of devices.

The goal of the redesign was to first put all the information right at your fingertips. We’ve reworked the navigation bar to remain on screen at all times, allowing you to quickly find information from a choice of categories, or stay up to date on the latest news and construction projects.

The new look homepage at http://www.wdwmagic.com contains highlights of all the site’s content, with the current news featured first, along with the most recently added photos and videos. There is also a handy ‘Today at the Parks’ section which gives you an overview of what is happening in the parks today - including park hours, Extra Magic Hours, special events, refurbishments and weather.

The restaurant menus have been given a complete overhaul, with all menus updated with current information, complete with the ability to ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ individual dishes on a menu to help others in choosing.

Our next goal was to make the site responsive to all device types. There is now no need to access either a desktop version of the site, or a mobile version of the site. The site will adapt itself to best work on whatever device you are using. Not only does the position of the content fit to the device, we also vary the amount of content displayed at a time, optimize image sizes for the type of device, and even serve extra resolution images for ‘retina’ class display devices such as iPad and iPhone.

Finally, we wanted to give photos and videos more of an impact, so you’ll find those to be much larger than before and easier to view.

The WDWMAGIC forums share the updates given to the main site, with the new static navigation menu, responsive design to accommodate any device type, and a refreshed look.

We are not finished yet with the redesign. Next up will be a brand new iOS app for iPhone, and more enhancements throughout the site.

We hope you enjoy using the new WDWMAGIC for all your Walt Disney World news and information needs. If you have any difficulties with the site, or have any comments, you can leave a message on the discussion forums, or send us an email.

Yes I am looking into it. :)

Any chance WDW Magic will be in the iOS 9 news app coming soon??? :)

That's right. Trade off between making the buttons larger and easier to touch. With screen sizes getting larger, this is not a big issue. iPhone 6 and 6+ generally fit the buttons on one line.

The page numbers no longer stay on a single line in Safari on my iPhone 5S since updating to iOS 9.

Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the new additions! :)

Steve. I REALLY love the photos of the day. Nice touch, and great pictures! Cheers.

Normally I'm on my iPad Air or desktop computer when reviewing what's new. Today I used my iPhone 5s and the ease of navigating has really improved on it. Again great job on the updates.

One question (and forgive me if I overlooked this already answered), but will we be able to hover our mice over the headings across the top and have the sections open up without having to click on them? I.E.....just hovering over "forums" will we see the list and be able to pick which one to go into, or will it stay where we have to click on it and then click on the next section and so on?

Hey...it appears that he is the same age as me....115 years old! Nothing wrong with that!

wm49rsJun 29, 2015

All due respect, but could that resistance to change have anything to do with your age?

Generally supermarkets do that to streamline the shopping process. I feel streamlined as heck right now.

PolymanJun 29, 2015

I hate change. This site change reminds me of a supermarket. Just when you have learned where everything is in every aisle, they go ahead and change it.

When I saw the change I feared the worst. I was pleasantly surprised by the update. Great Job! Photos look better than ever. And navigation has been a breeze. Keep up the great work on the site. Thanks.

Thanks! Yes, it's an amazing display for sure. Demanding on web content, but when it's good - it's GOOD! I use it for photography mostly though. So far, yeah, everything's looking really good.
