Global medical technology company Masimo today announced today that former Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has been appointed to Masimo's Board of Directors.

"I am thrilled to join the Masimo Board," said Mr. Chapek. "I look forward to helping advance the company's growth by leveraging their core technologies in the consumer and consumer health spaces."

Joe Kiani, Chairman and CEO of Masimo, said, "We are honored to have Bob join the Board. As we execute our hospital to home strategy, we expect to benefit greatly from Bob's role on our Board."

Chapek was fired by the Walt Disney Company board in November 2022 to be replaced by previous CEO Bob Iger. Chapek has remained out of the public eye since leaving.

Chapek took control of the Walt Disney Company in 2020 following Bob Iger's retirement and had been at the company for more than 30 years prior to becoming CEO.

Before becoming CEO, Chapek served as Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products.

Chapek was a controversial figure in his role as Disney CEO, and was blamed by fans and Disney executives for many of the difficulties in which the company found itself.

Park visitors posted videos on TikTok and Instagram, saying rides closed or new project cutbacks were "Chapek'd." "Bob Cheapek" became a meme on fan sites and message boards, referring to the CEO's reputation for cost-cutting and higher prices.

In a CNBC interview in February 2023, Iger was asked about the appointment and firing of Chapek, and said "We thought we made the right decision when we chose Bob [Chapek] in 2020. The board decided in November he wasn't the right person for the job and made a change."

That kind of diet is right up 93 years young Warren Buffett lifestyle alley of eating fast food and dairy queen on a regular basis. His take on that is he eats like a 6 year old kid which he says has the lowest death rates.

Come on Bob 595---- let's hope you can hit 600 in 2024 and I'm not talking baseball.

Execs are very good at reinventing themselves and many critics have the attention span of less than a goldfish - 8 seconds.

I was not talking about personal wealth, but that her status as an executive has been tarnished. Not going into rumors and innuendo.

She sold off her Meta stock in 2022 - $1.8 billion. She's resilient especially after her first husband an accomplished exec of Survey Monkey died while falling off a treadmill in a hotel resort gym during a family vacation.

AylaJan 18, 2024

😂 She's worth 2+ billion dollars. She's fine.

MR.DisJan 18, 2024

Just saw where Sheryl Sandberg is leaving META. At one point she was highly thought to be in the running to take over Disney, but her fortunes have changed drastically.

One thing that should be demanded by who ever is picked to take over--Bob Iger needs to completely leave the premises. No honorary office, not even a small cubicle. All privileges gone. If it satisfies his ego, make a statute in his honor--say just outside one of the restrooms in one of the parks.

SirwalterraleighJan 18, 2024

Notice how that corresponds with his ego never wanting to leave either The guy “retired” and never even moved out of his office. A comp: Eisner turned in his keys, his office and his main gate a year early
