D23 Expo is giving us a first glimpse of what is likely the final look for the Splash Mountain retheme into Tiana's Bayou Adventure. (Photos via @scottgustin)
Tiana's Bayou Adventure has undergone a number of changes since the first piece of marketing art was released in June 2020. Notable the large tree at the top has gone, and a new Tiana's Foods water tower makes an appearance. It isn't clear if this model is specific for Disneyland, or if the same version will be used for Walt Disney World.
These photos via @scottgustin show the model on display.
Also confirmed is that Tiana will appear in audio-animatronic form at the new attraction.
The Princess and the Frog remake of Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountain will open in late 2024 as "Tiana's Bayou Adventure," a closing date for Splash Mountain is still to be announced, but is expected in early 2023.
Disney announced the project back in June 2020 and said at that time, "The new concept is inclusive – one that all of our guests can connect with and be inspired by, and it speaks to the diversity of the millions of people who visit our parks each year."
