SMS Audio has entered into a multi-year agreement with Walt Disney Parks and Resort to become the Official Headphones of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California.

As part of the agreement, SMS Audio becomes the sponsor of Star Tours - The Adventures Continue at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend and Star Wars Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Resort in California.

SMS Audio also becomes the official headphones of D23, including product offers for D23 members and an appearance at the upcoming D23 EXPO in August 2015.

Finally, SMS Audio products will be available at Walt Disney World, including featured placement during Star Wars Weekends. SMS Audio currently has a Star Wars First Edition SMS Audio headphone range available, and in the spring, the Second Edition Star Wars SMS Audio headphone collection will be available depicting fan favorite themes such as Tie Fighter, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Darth Vader.

“Establishing an alliance with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is consistent with our strategic goal to build SMS Audio into a premiere global audio brand,” said Brian M. Nohe, president of SMS Audio.

“This alliance brings together two companies who share a commitment to providing high-quality entertainment experiences,” said Tiffany Rende, senior vice president of Disney Corporate Alliances and Operating Participants. “We’re thrilled to have SMS Audio join us as we continue to enhance our guest offerings. “

I’ve always wanted to ask DJ Elliot where he got those or if he made them himself.

Just ask DJ Lobot for his hookup:

Much better choices out there than Bose. Sennheiser, Sony, Audio Technica even Panasonic make better quality than Bose. I have not tried SMS or Beats.

All "designer headphones" or those associated with a recording artist are over-rated, and over-priced. These look cool, but cheap. I buy headphones for their audio quality, not looks, and not to be seen. I guess I'm just old school, but I think it looks dumb walking around with big bulky, flashy headphones, especially if they're just around your neck and not actually being used. I'll stick with my unbeatable Sony MDR-7506s, great sound and reasonably priced.

Really nice and high quality sound. Beats are in my opinion over rated. I like personally Bose, and as a music producing hobbyist, I like the professional quality surrounded by the name BOSE. That said, I like SMS Audio, great sounding quality and not over used like Beats.

True, true. I was thinking more along the lines of Jobs pushing "Apple Beats" if given half a chance though.

The thing is Steve Jobs family owns the stock now, not Apple, and even when Steve Jobs was alive, Apple never sponsored anything. It has always been a very one sided relationship, with Disney easily adopting Apple technology but Apple never sponsoring anything in return.

It's an interesting partnership, I wonder if there will be any theme park uses beyond merchandise.

Not necessarily related to this, but there has been talk of adding some scenes from the new movie. Part of the benefit of the current ride setup is that scenes can be easily swapped in and out. I don't think that any changes would be related to this announcement though. Maybe SMS will sponsor one of the new rides that gets built in the future, though.

They are 110-130 on Amazon so not that bad though their list prices are 200

Cmdr_CrimsonMar 26, 2015

Out of all the headphones they are selling....They don't even have a Lobot version...Come on!

That's exactly why this sponsorship is happening. Beats doesn't need anymore promotion of the brand. SMS Audio obviously isn't as well known, so a sponsorship like this i'm sure was very appealing to them.

Disney uses the "strategic alliance" term for all sponsorships.
