Could an upcoming Walt Disney Pictures movie be the saviour of the infamous Yeti scene in Expedition Everest?  The website ComingSoon.net today wrote that:

Ehren Kruger Plots Invertigo, and Disney Yeti Film
The Hollywood Reporter now has word that Kruger is also involved in Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming mountain adventure project, formerly known as The Hill. Announced last year, the film was to have been based on Disneyland's Matterhorn ride, though the trade notes that the scope has since been widened.

More information on the movie can be found here.

If indeed a movie is made based on a mountain and a Yeti, could there be a tie in with Expedition Everest?  And a refurbishment to restore, or even redo the finale scene with the Yeti?  This would not be the first time that Disney would have re-worked an attraction into a movie tie-in.  Countdown to Extinction was reworked into a tie-in with the motion picture Dinosaur, a few years after the attraction originally opened.

All of this is of course pure speculation at this point, but it would certainly explain the lack of action in repairing the current Yeti figure if indeed a movie tie-in is in the works.  What do you think? Let us know on our forum.
