Three years after its original announcement, Disney's DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is now open to guests at EPCOT.
Disney's DuckTales World Showcase Adventure replaces the ten-year-old Phineas and Ferb's World Showcase Adventure, using a new storyline, the Play Disney app, and updated physical props found throughout the World Showcase pavilions.
Disney's DuckTales World Showcase Adventure invites guests to join Scrooge McDuck, Donald, nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, Launchpad, and Webby in search of priceless treasure. Most of the action takes place on your phone in the Play Disney app, but most missions also trigger physical set pieces hidden in the pavilions of World Showcase. It never gets old when your gameplay on the phone makes something happen in the physical world in front of you.
In short, the high-tech scavenger hunt is a great way to explore World Showcase, and an ideal way for a family with kids to spend a couple of hours at the park. The only downisde? More screentime, and more battery drain. But if you can overlook that, this scavenger hunt is a good option in a park light on offerings for younger kids.
Players of the original Phineas and Ferb Adventure may be disappointed that much of that infrastructure here is reused, although rethemed to DuckTales, but for fans of DuckTales, it is a must-do. The number of missions spread throughout World Showcase means you can spend a long time playing without repetition. You also get real DuckTales animation, theme-song music and the original voice cast.
