Spaceship Earth new lighting design with points of light

Spaceship Earth will take on a holiday look during the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays this year.

Using the recently installed points of light that power the Beacon of Magic show and the nighttime look for the EPCOT icon, the new patterns will be presented nightly through December 30 alongside the existing Beacon of Magic.

Imagineer Zach Riddley shares some comments on the new lighting, "Our team was inspired by the concept of light ushering in holiday celebrations around the world, and our Imagineering team created new programming reflective of starlight in clear winter skies and the beautiful green and blue glow of the Aurora Borealis northern lights."

He continued, "Spaceship Earth - as both the park icon and a symbol of the rich legacy is this park’s past, present and future - holds a special power. It has memory. It was here from the start of EPCOT and is a symbol of connection shared by us all across time. We are excited to use this new lighting system to harken back to concepts and stories from the park’s past. And for the first time we are bringing that concept to life - by referencing visual elements from the Lights of Winter holiday display that graced the World Showcase bridge from 1994 until 2008. Fans of EPCOT’s history may even be able to pick out these visual elements! The EPCOT legacy is alive in the new experiences coming to this park — we proudly pass along our passion for future generations to enjoy. "

Oh yikes I guess I meant the Holiday projection on ToT and how long into January that runs. I am blanking on the name 😅

18 months from Oct 1, unless it gets extended.

Do you mean what time at night? Or what date it ends? I assume it runs all the way through the rest of the 50th Celebration.

Does anyone know when Beacon of Magic stops at HS? I tried to google but I couldn’t find any confirmed dates.

They were recently allowed to start wearing them. Omnicron is ripping through cast members.

My DS plays French Horn. They had a mask with a velcro opening for the mouthpiece. So, it's possible to do that. But, he was very happy to have that requirement stopped at that beginning of this month.

I don't recall anyone masked for Candlelight the first week of December except for a few instrumentalists... obviously not the wind instruments, tho.

We went to Epcot yesterday and saw the early candlelight show and my wife noticed that some of the performers were wearing mask while singing. Not just the golden choir but some voices as well. They looked like a solid color and not the blue pixie ones the average Cast wear. Has this been happening all season? Or was this new? I watched a you tube video of it earlier this year and don’t remember them being there.
