Disney has confirmed that Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will officially close on March 2, 2026, with the final day of operation set for March 1, 2026. This marks the end of the attraction's long-running Aerosmith era as work ramps up for its transformation into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Since opening in 1999, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster has been a signature thrill ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios, known for its high-speed launch, indoor inversions, and rock soundtrack. March 1, 2026 will be the last opportunity for guests to experience the original storyline and music before the attraction closes.
The attraction has already begun transitioning away from its current form. The Aerosmith preshow is permanently unavailable, with the recording studio space blocked off as work begins on the new Muppets preshow.
What's Coming Next
When the ride reopens, guests will step into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, featuring the Electric Mayhem band racing across Hollywood to make it to their biggest concert yet. The updated experience will introduce new scenes, updated visuals, and a soundtrack performed by the Electric Mayhem.
Disney has confirmed that the new version will include a Muppet Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, with hints that additional Muppet characters may appear throughout the attraction.
Outside, the familiar red guitar will receive a psychedelic redesign inspired by the Electric Mayhem, including a golden piano key detail tied to Dr. Teeth.
