This area could really be something special with some real imagination. When it first opened back in the day there were animators doing work on the latest films but like much of
Hollywood Studios the real working studio aspect went away either overseas to cheap animators or to California where the bulk of their studios are. Florida incentives for film work here in the state are virtually non existent so that help push them out. Wish they could at least make it interesting rather than a one time walk-thru area.

If you go in the exit of the anamation studio you are right at the characters and that is better than having to watch that show over and over. Drawing the characters is fun -- i can not draw and our family gets a kick out of looking at our art.

I didnt actually have time to see hardly anything here as I left it til near the end of the night and was just burning time to use my Aerosmith FP. I was dissapointed I missed Mermaid however. I did the walk through portions of both WD One Mans Dream and Magic of Disney Animation. Looks nice though. I was there in mid-April so not sure how well it blends in with the Toy Story area.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is a well done attraction in Animation Courtyard. Playhouse Disney is also popular with young families. There isn't a whole lot else though.

Description

The Animation Courtyard is a land at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Originally part of the much larger working studios, the area now contains the reworked Animation Tour, Playhouse Disney, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and a number of shops.
