Disney Jr Meet and Greets in Animation Courtyard Closed for Cool Summer Kids Update

The Disney Junior character meet and greets in Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are now temporarily closed, with rolling planters blocking guest access. The closures are part of preparations for Cool Kid Summer, launching across Walt Disney World on May 27, 2025.

During the update, characters like Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Doc McStuffins are being relocated to the Echo Lake area, where they’ll continue to appear with scheduled meet-and-greet times starting at 12:30 p.m. daily.

While the meet and greet locations are being refreshed, the nearby Disney Junior Play and Dance! show remains available for now. However, it will also temporarily close starting May 25 to make way for a new summer experience.

On May 27, the space will reopen as “Get Animated”—a limited-time Cool Kid Summer offering featuring:

Games and hands-on crafts
Surprise character appearances
Live DJ entertainment designed for young kids

Do you think parents leave their toddlers at home when they're taking family trips to WDW? Also, this would appeal to way more than just toddlers. Six year old me would have adored all of this.

Pop was already a zoo before they added characters to the mix (especially since their lobby is essentially a slightly beefy hallway in terms of size). Why try and cram more into what is already a crowded space at the best of times? I can't imagine that they asked anyone who worked there about the logistics...

Low Sensory rooms off the beaten path away from all the hustle and bustle would be a nice touch ... My park SFGAm did this by using an old store building not being used anymore and they have gutted it out and added chairs, low lighting and AC..It's actually not bad up until the Hooligans start coming in.
