Le Cellier is my second favorite park eatery, and I'm surprised I don't rate it higher in the individual categories because overall the experience is excellent. The menu is good, not terribly varied, but it is a steakhouse afterall. Service and value are the same - very good, not perfect, but very servicable for a themepark meal. The theme throws many off, but I totally enjoy it. It's not THAT dark, it's just that there isn't a great deal of outside light making it in, and the interior lighting is all artificial. It's a very nice break from the rest of the park. It's not really aimed at kids, but as with virtually all WDW eateries they certainly won't be out of place. The only true complaint I have about Le Cellier is portion size. I ordered the filet mignon with cream cheese mashed potatoes (the potatoes are to DIE for!), and it's a HUGE white plate with a small piece of filet and a drop of potato under it. I had expected the filet to be small, but there was so little potato it was hidden under the steak. I know we all need less carbs in our lives - but it was like a cruel trick, hehe. I'd expect to get at least one potato's worth, and I'd say the serving is about 1/2 a medium sized potato. Instead of asking for more mashed, I got a side of the potato salad, which was very good (very onion-filled and everything is chopped very large), but no something I'd get again. The steak itself was adequately sized, but I got a better and larger cut of filet mignon at Brown Derby a few days later (that was cheaper) and was surprised how much better it was. As everyone says, the real star of the show is the breadsticks - I recomend everyone in your party tries a bite of each one, then asking for more of your favorites when the waiter returns with your drinks (if you desire). I am not a pretzel fan, but I did enjoy the pretzel bread - though the sourdough was my favorite.
Sci-Fi is really one of those places you have to try at least once. The unique atmosphere is enough to make it worth it, in spite of several less than stellar features. To begin with, the menu is rather limited - and you are best to steer clear from the "fanicier" sounding dishes. Sci-Fi is best reccomended as a burger/onion ring meal or just dessert after a meal elsewhere. The burgers are great, and so are the rings and shakes - but that's about all I can reccomend from the food I've seen/eaten there. The service is a bit spotty, but still good - I chalk a lot of that up to the non-traditional seating and darkness of the restaurant. It's just harder to flag down a waitress (or give them that "look" that you need something) because of the enviornment. The portion size is also adequate - I wouldn't rate it as huge but certainly enough to satisfy most people. It's a hit or miss with kids - either they absoultely love it or they hate it. The novelty of eating in cars amuses most - but the dark atmosphere is a bit too much for some kids. The movie screen doesn't show anything terrifying (you aren't going to see the alien from the Alien films), just clips from old "classic" Sci-Fi films from the 40's/50's (Plan 9 from Outer Space, Attack of the 50ft Woman, etc.). I had to give it an overall "excellent" only because the theme makes it worth it; however, I'll add the caveat that it's only excellent for a burger or dessert - anything else and I'd have a hard time even giving it "average".
Brown Derby is easily my favorite eatery at WDW. I rated the menu as only "good" because there isn't a huge variety - but I enjoy the dishes they do have, especially the steak cobb. The service is always stellar - I feel like a "star" when I'm there. :) The value for what you get is good - a filet mignon cobb, an appetizer, a soft beverage, usually runs me just under $30. The theming is wonderful if you enjoy that old Hollywood feeling - though younger people might not recognize many of the names/faces that grace the walls in caricatures (i.e. Joan Crawford, Lucille Ball, etc.). Overall I highly reccomend it - the food is fabulous, and the understated decor is classy and really gives you a break from the bustle of MGM. Kids are iffy - they won't be out of place, but it's not as outwardly fun for them as Sci-Fi or 50's PTC.
This is my favorite place to eat.My wife is always on a low carb diet and this restaurant caters to her as well as it caters to a carb lover like me.The German food is better them most of the German restaurants Ive been to.The entertainment is great but they should vary it a bit as it hasnt changed in years.Now sitting in a table fool of strangers is quite ackward at first but by the end of the meal everyone is yapping up a storm.Well not always but usually.
The food taste great,especially since the Louisiana chain Landrys bought them.The coconut battered shrimp rocks and my wife loves the cobb salad. If we are at Animal Kingdom we always stop bye.As far as waiters attending me Ive always had great service myself.This is largely judged by how full my tea stays and I can tell I havent gone thirsty yet and I go through large amounts of the stuff.And the adult beverages are good as well.The place is busy and if you dont have a reservation you can wait 30 min or just walk right in ,you just never know.
A GOOD LUNCH MENU AND THE BEST ICE CREAM ANYWERE. IT CAN BECOME CROWED VERY EASILY DO TO THE SMALL SEATING CAPACITY. EVENINGS CAN BE AN ADVENTURE WITH LOTS OF TIRED KIDS AND FLUSTRADED PARENTS. A MUST DO EVERY TRIP
I love Olivias! A lil too expensive for me to eat there all the time when I stay at Old Key West, but its great to do once in a while! I definately reccomend it for first timers!
Our family loved this restaurant. There is an excellent selection of moderately adventurous foods and the setup of the buffet allows guests to wander at will from the meats to the desserts. Limited choices for small kids may make parents hesitate, especially with a $10 price tag. For any adult who likes to eat something a little different this is a wonderful choice. The wines were on the pricey side so we stuck to pop and water. Plenty of salads, soups and fresh fruit allowed for lots of taste testing and the waiter took time to explain some of the items we didn't recognize and encourage us to give them a try. There were an excellent variety of tasty desserts like banana bread pudding and coconut tiramisu. We were extremely happy with our meal here.
In my opinion Wolfgang Puck Express has some of the best food on Disney property. The BBQ chicken pizza is excellent and the french fries are some of the best I've had ANYWHERE! They are positively addictive! When looking at the menu the prices seem a bit steep, but the portions are large enough to be split by two people. I love this place and make sure to stop in AT LEAST once everytime I'm at WDW.
I ate at sit downs at resorts and other parks, (California Grill, Brown Derby, Boma, Resturant Marrakesh), this trip and LTT was consistenly the best across all catagories. The menu choices are a little limited but what is there is very good. I paid twice the price at other locations but it was the only resturant that was able to pull it off on all three stages of the meal - appetizer, entree, and dessert. I did the lunch which was w/o characters so I can't say how the interaction would be.
My boyfriend ordered a turkey leg and received a ham bone instead. No joke - it was a piece of ham shaped like a turkey leg. While my boyfriend likes ham anyways, we were extremely irriatated that the vendors did not inform us of the switch in meat. They tried to pass it off as a turkey leg, which it clearly was not!
I was extremely disappointed with Cap'n Jack's restaurant. We visited in December of 2003, and found the menu to very very limited. Furthermore, the portions were not that big and the food was extremely overpriced. The only good thing I can say about this place is that our waitress was nice and the setting overlooking the lake is very pretty.
This is such a fun restaurant to eat in. The entertainment is great, and the table seating allows you to interact with other WDW visitors from around the country. The food is very good and there is quite a variety. My sister who is a vegetarian found it very easy to eat here.
It's McDonald's - what else is their to say. It's bigger then most and not all Mickey D's have electronic menus, but I can drive 5 minutes from my house and come across five of the artery clogging restaraunts.
BETTER THAN AND A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE REST OF THE PRETZEL PLACES. NICE FOR A SNACK BREAK IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY SHOPPING.

GOOD FOOD AT REASONABLE DISNEY PRICES WHICH MAKES IT A GREAT PLACE TO EAT WHEN YOUR AT DOWNTOWN DISNEY. EVERYONE IN OUR GROUP WAS ABLE TO HAVE AN ENJOYABLE MEAL. IT CAN BECOME CROWED AT TIMES SO BE SURE TO VISIT DURING OFF PEAK LUNCH HOURS.
Yet another "good" overall from me here. The menu here has some unique stuff, so that's a plus. The mood inside has a super laid back, dimmed lighting, mellow feel.....which I guess is why it's the House of BLUES.
DTD is great for dining, and this is no exception! This restaurant is actual set on the water at DTD. If oyu can get a window seat, you've got a nice view of the marketplace. My only complaint was that it was a little crowded, but the atmosphere overall was really nice. Go for it!
We actually have only been here once, and it was for our Disney Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. We had the balcony upstairs, so it wasn't your normal visit. The food was VERY different, but if you're up for trying new things, then this place is for you. I'd say 80% of the food I tried was really tasty. Try it once. You never know, Cuban cuisine may become your favorite!
Hey, McDonalds is McDonalds, right? Well, sorta. This one is slightly higher priced than your average Mickey D's, BUT the improved, Disneyfied atmosphere is worth the extra couple bucks. Plus, the dollar menu is still in effect. They ALSO have the coolest drink and condiment center you've ever seen in your life. Go check it out. So, for those of you who have blown your Disney budget a little sooner than expected, this is the place to go to fill up on some vittles. :)
This was a very unqiue, unsual, and terrific dining experience. I would highly recommend trying this place on your next trip!
We always try to make a stop here, it is one of the best themed places in the parks. But as for the food, watch out. This place even managed to mess up a hamburger! As a kid I never had problems with the food, but I refuse to eat there anymore. I recommend going for a milkshake or a cocktail to relax in the cool, fun atmosphere. If you want to eat at a full service restaraunt at the Studios try the much better Mama Melrose's or the Prime Time Cafe (which has a similar problem of theming over food, but their food is worlds ahead of Sci-Fi).
This place gets a bad rap, but I enjoyed my only visit. The ribs are pretty good, and topped off with a cold one and the unique ambience offered here, they made for a memorable dining experience. People complain about the price a lot...welcome to Disney World. It'll be $3.50 for that oxygen, please. Yes, it's overpriced, but what isn't at the World? Give it a try...I think you'll like it.
I make it a point to hit this restaurant everytime I am at the World. I love themeing and this place is great! Try it, you'll like it!
Great food for decent prices. If you're looking for a quick lunch...pass on MickeyD's and grab yourself a sandwich from the Earl...the Pina Colada smoothies are mighty tasty too :)
There really isn't much atmosphere here. I do think you get your moneys worth for the amount of food you get. The food itself is not spectacular, but I would say it is above average as far as food found at WDW.
The Luau show takes place in three 20-30 minutes acts: Overact, Interact, and Re-enact. The first act, set against the sparse set, introduces the “characters” in straight dramatic fashion. This part has little singing or dancing and is mostly painful dialogue with a dash of overacting thrown in for good measure. The second act is not really an act per se, but an elaborate photo opp. A chance for the audience to interact with the performers. Groups of people in the crowd are encouraged to participate on stage, and it makes for good pictures. The third act is where the real performance takes place. The extremely talented dancers re-enact Polynesian dances in spectacular fashion. Highly entertaining. This act alone is worth the price of admission. As for my kids, the 4-year old slept through the entire show, the 6-year old was mesmerized, and the 8-year old was somewhat bored. The adults were very impressed with the third act and mildly amused by the first two. Before, during, and between acts you are served authentic (and delicious!) Polynesian food. The chicken and rice are particularly tasty. The volcano desserts were also a favorite of our table’s.
ive only ate there once but when i went the food was awesome and the place was the most awesome restaraunt id ever been to the person i went to Disney with said that the waitress served us wasnt as good as some of the other waiters and waitresses but i thought she was very good...
The Liberty Tree Tavern features great roast beef (and good food, in general) served family style. The character interaction is fun, and the colonial theming (from the costumes to the decor) is impressive and interesting. Also, my wife and I got a kick out of how the names are called when tables are ready. It's a nice touch.
Wow, the steak here is unbelievably good! Easily the best my wife or I have EVER had at WDW. This is a romantic restaurant and worth a splurge, if you can afford it. The staff is very attentive, and the atmosphere is luxurious. Under no circumstances would I take young kids here. Let's put it this way - it cost us $45 to have all three kids at the Sandcastle Kids Club while we ate, and I'm confident we came out financially ahead on the deal. And really, the restaurant is geared towards adults, anyway.
Steak is supposed to be the specialty of Le Cellier, but frankly, neither steak we had was any good. The breadsticks were okay. On the plus side, our server was very friendly and attentive. The theming is nice, but the interior is a little dark.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed this place very much. It provides a bit of romance and the food is excellent. We had a riverside table and the ambience is great.
My wife and I ate lunch here and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent (the cheese soup is to die for) and our waitress was wonderful. The image of this restaurant being a dank, dark basement are unfounded. It's very nice, although definitely not a kid-friendly atmosphere.
This restaurant has incredible themeing and good food. The Shrimp pasta was yummy. It really felt like we where eating outside under the stars watching a drive-in movie. However, when we went there for lunch we where placed in the back seat of one of the cars with another family. The place was pretty much empty so we asked to be moved and they wouldn't do it. It didn't take away too much but still it was aggravating.
Great all around I absolutly love this place!!! The theming is great, I feel like I am at my grandmothers. The food is great! I love the meat loaf and dad's electric lemonaid.
If I need a quick fix on german food this is where I head to. Its not the best like the resturant. But if I need a quick fix this is where I head to. If your not a fan of saurkrat then dont eat here.
The nachos were great! They filled me up and were unlike ones that are plied on then the nacho cheese. You dip the chip in what you want. O so good.
WOW what a meal. I did not eat alot before coming to this resturant and boy am I glad I didnt! I left there so stuffed! Everything was great the rolls were great. The salad is yum. Everything was so good. I enjoyed it very much and seeing all the characters while eating dinner is always such a joy!
We have to agree--Breakfast here is bad! We were also seated right away, but had minimal character interaction. Jasmine, Mary Poppins and Aurora came over as we were being seated, scribbled their autographs, posed for ONE group picture and left--that was the extent of our character visitations. Our waiter told us Belle was not there that day--we saw her & Snow White on our way out. They never came to our side of the room let alone our table. We arrived at 9:10, by 9:20 they started clearing out our side of the room and by 9:50 we were the only family left on our side of the room! Service was bad and food was mediocre. It was terribly over priced and we were rushed the whole time. I would NEVER do this again--What a waste of $85!!
I recently went to Akershus for the new Breakfast with the Princess'. We usually go to Cinderella's Royal Table, so I thought this would be something different. Boy, was I wrong! While the seating ws prompt, the service good and the characters very obliging, the food selection and taste was awful! You got a skillet of runny eggs, thick sliced sausage, and as my eight year old put it, chewy bacon. I paid almost $50.00 for 1 adult and 2 kids, and all I had was a cinnamon roll. That was the most expensive roll I ever had! Luckily, I did book Cinderella's breakfast, too! That was alot more enjoyable and at least you had choices!
How can you not like this place! My family and I eat here everytime. I used to be a vegetarian and the menu accomodated that, and now that I'm not a vegetarian its twice as great. The German band is always fun to watch if you haven't seen it before and the pint of beer adds to the meal.
I couldn't complain about the service I received, but I was seating in the solo diner section and made great conversation with the person next to me. I watched as I received excellent service (probably because I ordered an expensive wine) while the girl next to me rushed out of there. I found out later that she was a Disney employee at another park and was not happy at all with her service. I observed that the restaurant was very kid friendly and I can't complain about the menu...
This was the first French restaurant I had been to in a long time and as an adult. As a single diner with food allergies I was attended to and not ignored. My waiter was also working with two large parties of over 8 people each and he always checked up on me and was very friendly overall. I was appreciative for the attention he paid to a single diner in a large restaurant of noisy parties and children. This restaurant also opened me up to French fair.
I always rate the restaurant I go to at Disney World by how well they serve a single person. As a solo diner I was seated near the window to watch the evening events and attended to just as good, if not better than the large parties and couples sitting around me. The waiter took the time to answer my questions and have a good conversation with me during my wait. The wine he recommended with my dish went perfectly and I was not rushed out at all. I also do not like sitting near children and there were only adults nearby, nice and quiet. I recommend this place for solo diners as well as couples without children.
This is a refreshing change from most of the counter service dining in the World. Filling, but not heavy. Great flavors! Outside seating is recommended. We plan at least one meal here every trip!

We (626 and I) LOVE the Boma! Its my favorite restaurant at WDW! We go every time. One time when we were at the park for only 3 hours (we visited family in Florida for Thanksgiving and flew out of Orlando just so we could stop by WDW for a few hours to see the Osborn Family Christmas lights at MGM) we still ate at the Boma. I would never miss it. Its a Gourmet Buffet! I am not a fan of Buffets either. But this one is great because you can try all these weird things you might never oder. (my husband and I are very picky eaters) If you do not like it try something else! We do not have kids but there is something for everyone at the Boma. And if you love something just ask for the Recipe, they will give it to you! Last year we tried Breakfast which is Great as well. 10 Stars for BOMA!!
The pork and brisket sandwiches are ridiculously good. The seating area is very scenic. Great place for a quick-stop lunch!
If you are seated where the staff draws you into their family it is great. if on your second trip you take friends to it and are seated away from THE SHOW you end up with overpricd meatloaf!!!!!
My wife and I are frequent EPCOT visitors and try to eat at least one lunch here when we are there. The last few times we have eaten, the waiters have pushed the higher priced wines on us rather than the house wines which we enjoy. Their Caesar Salad is the best we have ever tried with large baked parmasean(sp?) crouton. We usually split a portion of Alfredo which is just enough for two people. This typical lunch holds the bill to a managable total. Overall a good lunch spot especially if you can eat on the patio in a sunny day. Just stand frim with the waiters and the learn quick.
You will find the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafé just inside the Norway pavilion on the left hand side as you face the Maelstrom. Go inside and you will find a wonderful selection of VERY tasty cakes and desserts. My favorite so far is the Strawberry Cake. Word has obviously gotten out about how good the things taste here, as it seems to attract a pretty good queue, which occupies the majority of the interior space. Be prepared for a 20 minute wait at peak times. I would suggest getting your cakes, and take your family and friends or that special someone out to the Lagoon area to eat. Enjoy!
Three generations of our family count this among their favorite restaurants at WDW. The food is good, as are the margaritas, but the reason to go is the "feel" of the place. This is the place for atmosphere at EPCOT.
On a recent "magical gatherings" vacation we booked O'hanas to end a full day at Magic Kingdom. After all of the walking & sensory-overload our group of 11, which ranged in age from 1 to 60, walked off the monorail hungry, tired and wet (from one of Florida's infamous afternoon rain showers). From our first glimpse of the beautiful Polynesian Resort to our pineapple & caramel dessert, we could not have been more pleased with this decision. We were seated within 10 minutes of our p.s. and our waiter brought the appetizers and drinks within minutes of our arrival. The food was delicious and abundant, the activities were fun but not overwhelming, and the adult cocktails were refreshing (and non-existent within MK itself). I strongly recommend this restaurant for families that want the end-of-the-first-day meal to be delicious and memorable instead of drawn-out and cranky.
The food is very good quality! The best though and most would agreee is the ice cream! The stuff is the best and the portions are huge. If the kids get crazy from all of the food simply let them walk 3 feet into the arcade! This is a must for anyone staying in the boardwalk area!!!!
the only thing worst than eating here once was eating here twice. Both times the food was not close to being Disney quality. I guess since its the only sit down at OKW who cares.
We had dinner with Cinderella. It was the best experience. The food was excellent and the kids loved make your own sundays. My daughter also had Tea With ALice and it was adorable. They had little sandwiches and juice.
THE NICEST SERVER AT WDW. BUT THE THE SERVINGS WERE SMALL AND ALL OF THE GOOD THINGS I HAVE HEARD OF WERE NOT THAT GREAT(BREADSTICKS-CHEESE SOUP -STEAKS)AND SEEMED TO BE OVERPRICED.SHOULD BE TRIED ONCE.
I must be missing something. This place constantly gets a bad rap, but I don't think it's bad at all. Is it a perfect dining option? No. Is it overpriced? Probably, but what sit down isn't overpriced at WDW? Yes, you can also find a similar menu off property for less money. I do feel however that this restaurant is a viable option. The food really is quite good. The portion sizes have a tendency to be very large, and very filling (a rarity for chinese food). The service is always prompt and friendly. My advise, to get the most for your dollar, get the sampler for two. There is enough food in this offering to feed at the very least 3 people. To me, that's value, and I like to get the most out of my $
Favorite restaurant at WDW. Fabulous food (somewhat adventurous, but not too crazy), great wine list (all South African wines) and just a beautiful place. Also, Boma is so popular, Jiko seems to be somewhat overlooked, so it rarely seems to be incredibly crowded.
Woosh! THUMP! Did not have a very good experience at Le Cellier. First off, I did like the theming of the dining room. Beautiful atmosphere. Woosh!Thump! The dinner menu was not exactly expansive. Not much to choose from. Woosh! Thump! The portions were rather anemic. I ordered the free range chicken. Decent amount of chicken, but only enough spaetzle and mushrooms to fill up a mouse. Woosh! Thump! The table? Next time I go to Le Cellier, I'll bring a piece of wood to shove under the leg to keep it from wobbling... actually, I won't be going back, so I won't need to bring any wood. Woosh! Thump! Oh, by the way, are you wondering why all the "Woosh!" and "Thump!"? That's because we got sat in between the two kitchen doors. Approximately every 2 seconds a server would race by the table (just narrowly avoiding contact with myself and my fiancee), bust open the doors, which would never fail to slam shut with a resounding "THUMP!". Thanks for the headache, Le Cellier! If anyone ever tries to guide you to the "Table next to the fireplace"... Run screaming, and beg for another table.
Hate to be the odd one out here, but I have to personally disagree... The scene is May 2003 on our trip's first night at Disney World. I was taking my girlfriend out for a long-overdue dinner to celebrate both her graduation and out 2 and a half year anniversary to a place I heard SOOO many good reviews about. We booked an hour and a half before the fireworks and was told by a Disney Rep on the phone that we'd be seated at a window if we arrived early enough and requested it. We arrived THREE hours before our reservation and requested a window. The place was already PACKED and the employees were very irrate and disgruntled. He told me "we'll see" when I asked him if we'll be getting a window. The place's waiting area is like 2 chairs and a couch, so we were forced to sit on the floor against a wall for 3 hours and watch the EXACT same people who were LONG done with their meals when we arrived not budge. They weren't asked to leave or anything, just sat there at empty table by the glass and waited for the fireworks. To make matters worse, when we were finally seated LONG after the fireworks were over, we didn't even get a window. The food choices were terribly small and when we got our $27/each meals, they were the most disgusting things I've ever eaten, but I suffered through every second to make sure I got my $27 in me. My girlfriend was equally displeased and that ended a terrible night after we left. But nonetheless we went for us, not for Disney. I reccomend eating elsewhere, personally.
I have spent many a nights here at the club, watching my beloved white sox and other chicago teams battle it out. the food is the best 'bar' kind of food ever, and the mega big screen is great. we spent 8 hours there new years day two years ago to watch our illini play, and we had the best time. great for the sports fan.
I love going back in time to the 50's and seeing some of the B-rated movies of the past. the food is definatly second to the theming, and after a while, you will feel that you are truely in a drive in theatre. Kids will love it if you let them drive. ;)
IT has been a while, but I did find this kind of out of the way place delicious. I can't get enough of their calamari and pasta dishes, and it is expensive yet delicious. we sat there for nearly 2 hours, so the service is by no means fast, but it is efficient.
going home to mom's kitchen is the best. the good ol' american food of the 1950's is great, everything from dad's mixed drinks to the chocolate shakes to the tv dinners to the smores dessert. you will literally feel right at home here, with your cousin or mom or aunt serving you dinner!
I really liked this place, until we went back this summer. I think they changed the shogun combo, and it is stillgood, yet it was better before.
I put good across the board, but my favorite part about this place is the fact you can sit down and overlook the 'its a small world ride'! I love hanging out with dad, watching my cousins and my husband go on, unknowing of what is ahead of them. we wave to people, and they wave back. we always get good laughs at little kids who find us amusing. we always go around 10:30 or 11 am, so NO one is there! we get the greatest seat in the house!
Good across the board, nice for families who can only please the kiddies with pizza. they have 'value' meals that are filling. go right when they open for the fastest service, warmest food, and best seating.
four words. chili. cheese. french. fries. my dad and I crave them the minute we get near pecos bills. they are big enough to split with someone else, but why?! eat 'em as a meal!
I love going here, since it is out of the way, and a lot of people neglect to see it. and I am addicted to mexican food of any kind. good nachos!
I love going to Casey's for my delicious hot dog, fries, coke, and brownie. I always know that I am getting some yummy food, and I know I will fill up on it no problem. I eat outside when the piano guy is out, and inside for the 'baseball' game. Chicagoians love their kosher dogs at the ballpark, and it is perfect for us!
I can't get enough of their choco-goodness. for the choco lover in you, it is the perfect place.
Skip this restaurant. Really. You won't be missing a thing that you can't get from your local Chinese restaurant back home. In fact, depending on where you live, your local Chinese restaurant might be much better than this overpriced mediocrity. Especially considering that there are much better restaurants at Epcot. The Singapore noodles I had were actually worse than the ones I can get at home and I live in a very small town. The dim sum was overpriced and flavorless. The service was okay and the decor and atmosphere was pretty uninspired.
I like taking my little cousins here, but for a romantic evening out, it is not the place to go. it is noisy, big, and full of kids, but for the chucky-cheese kid inside, it is perfect. the food is ok, nothing outstanding,but just what kids love. the ice cream bar is great, with desserts that are pretty average, but who doesn't love brownies!? and cheesecake? priority seating recommended
I love the idea of african and american cuisine coming together at Bomas. we had dinner, and the next day, breakfast at Boma's, and mom is still talking about it! the price is a bit high, but it is buffet, and fabulous at it too. The desserts alone are to die for (I love the zebra thingys) and if you don't like the african fare, there is always the fallback of the american food. I would choose dinner over breakfast, only because I am not really a breakfast person. Highly recommended.
I love going back in time to the time of soda jerks and diners. ( and hey , I am only 22) the nostalga is screaming at you from every corner, and the food portion sizes are great! got a big family? and they like ice cream? get the 'everything but the kictchen sink' dessert. and just try to finish it!
ohana means family, and we felt right at home. great food .great service. and a great atmosphere for the whole family.
I'm not a huge fried fan, but this place has THE best fried chicken I've ever had! :) I think it's one of the best food deals on WDW property, we've always had good service w/ large parties there and it's never been overly crowded at the food stations. It's also a good opportunity to check out Ft. Wilderness before dinner! :)
*This wasn't meant for the character dining section, but hopefully will help if someone is considering dinner!* Sorry! We decided to have dinner instead of breakfast and am SO glad we tried it! The food was wonderful and I discovered my now favorite brand of tea while there as well. (Harney) The service was in the top three experiences we have ever had anywhere at WDW. The atmosphere is outstanding as well, I would definitely give it a try. If you have kids and couldn't make a PS for breakfast, I think kids would love dinner here as well. It has a very magical feeling.
We've been to Disney a number of times and avoided this restaurant because of reviews I've seen elsewhere. However, during this last visit in early January we decided to take a chance on Chefs de France. Both the food and service were very good and all of us were pleasantly surprised at the warmth of the waitstaff. Take a chance and enjoy as our party did the good food along with very professional (and cordial) service.
Skip this. If you're in the German Pavilion and absolutely must have something to eat, without going into the Biergarten and paying for the sit-down buffet, then go into the candy shop and get some of that great German chocolate or gummi bears, or anything but the flavorless gruel they serve here. The menu lacks variety, but that's okay, because the food they're serving here, you really don't want anyway. I had some kind of pretzel roll, drowned in a tomato sauce with a cutlet, and it was so bad, I seriously contemplated taking my plate back and saying, "I can't eat this, Liebchen, give me my money back." The dining area is a darkened patio next to the entrance to Biergarten. It's covered, in case it starts to rain, but that's about the only positive thing I can say for it. Otherwise, it's a pretty depressing place to eat.
There aren't enough superlatives - the atmosphere is amazing, the food is fantastic (who would believe that filet would taste so good with mac 'n cheese?), the CM's are great and the pre- or post-dinner walk and sightseeing is worth the trip in itself! Like most upscale Disney restaurants, this one is not cheap - but it's worth it! If you like the California Grill, try Jiko's!
I have read several mixed reviews of this restaurant and I'm always a bit surprised - perhaps we've just lucked out the four time we've been there. We have gone for a romantic evening for two (the subtle but pervasive theming of the Wilderness Lodge is just wonderful!) and for a family dinner for four. My brother-in-law has cheesburger-only-type kids and they were disappointed in the restaurant. Our children have a palate that's a bit more adventurous and they both enjoyed their meals. The staff was friendly and welcoming to the children and had an extensive knowledge of the menu & wine list, as well as an eagerness to please. We've never been disappointed in our meals (or cocktails), but I must confess we LOVE the desserts. DH raves about the Capuccino Creme Brulee and DS (7) loves the Mickey dessert puzzle. DS (9) and I always split the berry cobbler (fight over it is a more apt description).
It took a bit of doin' for me to find this place, but it was worth it. First the setting, along the river, under lovely shade trees in a picnic area is really, really nice. I found the atmosphere one of the best at WDW for having a bit of lunch. Second, as a Southerner, let me say, the barbecue is not bad at all, considering it does have to be tempered to the tastes of a wide variety of people. It was very mild and a little sweet. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I even liked their slaw (which is the acid test). Next time I'm at AK, I'm eating here! It's delightful!
The food was good and the decor was interesting, but truthfully, The Pepper Market is just a gussied-up, more expensive version of the food courts at the All-Stars. You visit a number of stations and order what you want to eat, they stamp your card, and give you your food. You take it to your table and eat, then you pay on your way out. Ostensibly, there is a server who shows you to your table and gets you your drink. More often than not, I ended up getting my drink and refills myself. For this "service" you pay a ten percent surcharge. Who needs the added expense? The servers and the people who dish up the food were always nice. The cashier who rang up my meal was more interested in studying Chinese on flash cards than doing his job. The food was okay, and the menu has a lot of variety. But they could dispense with the fiction of having servers and let us pick our own table and get our own drinks and save guests a little money.
