The Walt Disney Company has once again earned a spot on TIME's prestigious TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, announced on Thursday. This list honors companies making an impact worldwide, and Disney’s consistent inclusion since the list's inception in 2021 highlights its influence.

In its fourth annual edition, TIME recognized Disney for its competitive strengths in the entertainment industry, particularly highlighting its focus on achieving profitability in its streaming businesses. This year, Disney stands out as the only media and entertainment company to make the list, a testament to its innovative and influential role in the sector.

The TIME100 Most Influential Companies list comprises a diverse group of 100 businesses shaping the future. TIME's editors gather suggestions and applications from various sectors, survey contributors and correspondents globally, and consult with outside experts to compile this list. According to TIME, the selection process considers a range of qualities, including impact, innovation, ambition, and success, rather than focusing on a single data point or financial metric.

Phillip Morris was pretty influential as a company as well.

We certainly know they weren't influential for their Box Office, Theme Park Attendance, or Streaming Viewership/profitability, all of which ranged the failure scale. So it must be something else.... "Disney boss Bob Iger also bolstered his position atop the House of Mouse in April, when he fended off a challenge from activist investors for the second time in two years. The group had sought to unseat Iger, arguing that the company had become too “woke” and not profitable enough for its shareholders. Foes vanquished, Iger can focus on all these challenges and get on with the real work of bringing Disney+ to profitability; the company expects that to happen by the end of the year." There it is.

The 100 most influential companies that a group of "reporters" came up with after browsing their Twitter feeds while sipping wine and talking about the numerous cats they own. Also other than finding a copy at your dentist's office waiting room, does anyone actually subscribe to Time?
