Tiana's Bayou Adventure construction - April 16 2024
Posted: Tuesday April 16, 2024 10:00am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Today, we have the latest update on the progress of Tiana's Bayou Adventure construction in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Work is mostly complete on the mountain, with crews hand-finishing small areas that require touch-ups.

The majority of the visible construction activity is still taking place in the outdoor and indoor queue area.

New since our last update is the addition of the Main Entrance signage into the building from the queue area.

We are still waiting for a precise opening date, but Disney has previously said that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open this summer at Walt Disney World and later in 2024 at Disneyland. The current best estimates are still leaning toward the mid-June timeframe, with previews expected before then.

Maybe we should start criticizing them for lack of massages in the queue! And its lack of free Piña Coladas!

That's assuming it happens.

Man that Villians Kingdom was really executed terribly!

Can’t believe they opened it unfinished. An embarrassment. Can’t believe I woke up at 6:15 for the VQ. Can barely see Bruno through the fence slats.

Too many animals.

They heard our criticisms before opening and course corrected. It worked! Now we just have to whine about the banners and signage some more... lol

The new Encanto ride is trash.

Imagineering is on-site today watching the installation of flora to cover the fence in front of the drop, finally. I'll have photos this afternoon. Looks like as of today, it will be covered for good.

Thanks for these! That close up of the back of the crown - to me - shows that Ray and Evangaline probably won't light up. :( Such a missed opportunity for a little extra magic. After all, Evangeline is the second star to the right.....

Is the white building with the new staircase on the side going to be yellow? I still don't love the yellow, but the white adds some lovely contrast with it

The yellow of the building has been toned down with faux weathering so it isn't neon-yellow any more. A nice improvement. Funny how waiting until things are done before giving one's verdict makes one look less... extremist.

That's my best guess

I hate to say it but the graphics (aside from the barn signs) are growing on me. The shutters somehow make the mural look way better to me, and the banners really aren't that bad. It honestly does look amazing to me now that its been majority finished outside for a while.

My kids love Tiana. But the tall 6 year old is scared of big rides and the daredevil 3 year old won't be tall enough. Guess they'll be sitting at the little deck outside Big Thunder in the hot sun longer. That playground was fantastic for rider swap :(
