Victoria and Alberts MIchelin Star Award

Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort has been awarded a Michelin Star for 2024.

Michelin says, "Nestled within Disney's crown jewel, the Grand Floridian Resort, this restaurant is by no means an easy reservation, but the reward is a kind of magic rarely seen these days. The setting is intimate, and the pacing is that of a leisurely, three-hour waltz orchestrated by a gracious brigade of veteran servers. Chef Matthew Sowers cooks with contemporary verve and draws on influences spanning from Asia to the Nordics. Think delicate tarts set with New Zealand langoustine, striking 'sandwiche' made with venison carpaccio and red cabbage, and bold sauces like cherry-cola bordelaise. Other details like water lists, an ornate coffee and tea service, and a serious wine program further impress."

A Michelin Star is awarded to restaurants offering outstanding cooking. Michelin takes into account five universal criteria: the quality of the ingredients, the harmony of flavours, the mastery of techniques, the personality of the chef as expressed through their cuisine and consistency both across the entire menu and over time.

In addition to the Michelin Star, Israel Perez of Victoria & Albert's is awarded the 2024 MICHELIN Guide Florida Service Award Winner.

Dining at Victoria & Albert's at Walt Disney World is known for being a high-end, luxurious experience, and the cost reflects that. Prices can vary depending on the dining option you choose:

  • The Dining Room: The prix fixe menu in the main dining room costs around $295 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
  • The Queen Victoria's Room: This more intimate experience is priced at about $375 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

I was wondering why the dining area didn't seem very crowded. :D I just found my special Disney badge for that visit. It was our 34th anniversary, so that means we went there in December, 2019.

It was closed from 3/15/2020 to 7/28/2022

When we went in December, 2020, the total bill for the two of us was $842 and we didn't even do any wine pairings. That included tax and gratuity. Also, I think I remember it being called a 10-course dinner.

Meh…topolino is just ok. I’d still take JIKO and maybe flying fish over that.

Probably a lot, and that's understandable. A Michelin Star is a huge deal.

How do you like Topolino's? Besides Victoria and Albert's, Topolino's is probably the highest quality I've seen at Disney. I felt California Grill dropped a bit as of late and I don't think many others are even in the conversation.

How much is Disney going to upcharge for that star?

What year was that? Just curious. Last time we went was 2015 and it was $135 for the prix fixe and maybe? $65 for the pairings. I remember fairly clearly (we did the wine pairings) that is was $480 with tip and my wife telling me don't be cheap and just do $500. I was like "how is 20 percent cheap?" , but I did $500 as instructed. Second highest tip I have ever given for the two of us.

I talked to a CM at Be Our Guest - A place I boycotted due to lower and lower standards, but she basically told me she makes 6 figures as a sever at BoG and has a degree in chemistry she isn't using because the money is too good at Disney, lol. I am happy for her. She's also a fantastic server and CM.

Likely credit cards, but this is normal for fine dining. It may not be your thing, but Michelin Star dining is truly another level of dining experience. I paid a little more than that with no wine paring in Japan and Europe. 3 Michelin stars is even crazier.

It's on par with other restaurants in its class. It's not for everyone. It's probably a once in a decade experience for me.... Disney has a lot of hit or miss food, but it has some real gems too. This is one of them.

It's not just another restaurant...and it is not for everyone... It is a spectacular dining adventure...And not something you would do every day or even every year... It's special. There are plenty of other restaurants onsite that have less expensive food where dinner will be dinner and not a 4-5 hour experience... Yes, it is pricey, but we have found it to be a wonderful and memorable evening... It is nice that there is something like this at WDW.
