Forecast
Today and the days ahead · NWS Melbourne, 1:28am MonExpect abundant sunshine today as a front slips south of the area, with highs in the mid to upper 80s feeling much more comfortable as humidity drops. Tomorrow stays warm with intervals of cloud cover as onshore flow returns, though a few sprinkles or brief showers cannot be ruled out. Shower chances then slowly increase later in the week as moisture builds back in.

About Walt Disney World Weather
The Daily Pattern
From late May to early October, central Florida runs on a sea-breeze clock. Mornings are hot and mostly sunny, storms build inland after lunch, and the parks usually see their rain between about 2pm and 8pm: heavy for an hour or so, then clearing in time for the nighttime shows. The winning plan is rope drop, a long indoor stretch or resort break through the storm window, and a return for the evening. From November to April the pattern flips: rain comes with cold fronts every week or two, mornings can start in the 40s and 50s, afternoons are comfortable, and long dry spells are normal. Spring is the driest season.
Heat and Humidity
The air temperature understates a Florida summer. With dewpoints in the 70s, an 89° afternoon feels like 100° or more, which is why this page leads with the feels-like line and flags the hours it passes 100°. Shade, water, and the air-conditioned queues at midday make more difference than the forecast high.
What Closes in a Storm
Rain alone closes very little. Lightning does: when it is detected nearby, outdoor coasters, water rides, the Skyliner, boat launches, parades and outdoor shows pause until it clears, typically 30 to 45 minutes after the last strike. Indoor attractions, dining and shops carry on, so a storm window is a good time for them. Ponchos beat umbrellas in queues.
Hurricane Season
Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 and peaks from mid-August to mid-October. Storms are tracked here from the National Hurricane Center days before any local alert, and a Florida watch or warning appears at the top of this page. Walt Disney World has closed for a hurricane only a handful of times in its history, and closures are announced on our news pages as they happen.
Where the Numbers Come From
Forecasts are the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida, for the gridpoint covering Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The live reading is the nearest NWS station at Kissimmee Gateway. Radar is the NOAA NEXRAD mosaic via Iowa State University, tropical storms are the National Hurricane Center, airport delays are the FAA, and the UV index is the EPA. Everything refreshes every few minutes.
