Saw the new Mando trailer before Hoppers yesterday. Yeah, it’s going to do well. As long as it’s not absolute trash. If it’s decent to good it’ll do really well. I’m more confident now after the trailer I saw yesterday.

I’m a casual Star Wars viewer and not even remotely a Mandalorian fan (tried to watch 3 episodes and blechhhhh) but the buzz around Starfighter has me cautiously interested.

Star Wars: Starfighter comes out in 2027 regardless, so there will actually be two results to draw conclusions from.

I think that’s a fair assessment, a single hit won’t instantly revive the brand but I think it has to do well if we hope to see more Star Wars movies in the near future . If it’s a huge hit I think the next SW movie gets fast-tracked and we see it in theaters in 3 years, if it just breaks even I think we get another SW movie in 6 years, if it fails I don’t think we see another theatrical SWs film for a decade. I think the stakes are higher for SW fans than they are for Disney, Disney can sit on the brand for years without it affecting the bottom line if they have to, as fans we aren’t getting any younger, I’m hoping for success purely for selfish reasons, I want more (good) SW content.

As a guess? If this movie is successful it’s going to be in the Deadpool lane. By that I mean the state of SW roughly parallels Marvel. Sure Deadpool and Wolverine did very well. Don’t mean that Marvel was back because of it. Same for SW if this does well, I don’t think it means SW IS “back!” It means a movie did well. The state of the franchise is very YTBD.

I can't wait for the scene where Djarin contacts King Rolland's cousin of planet Druidia about getting a good deal on a used ST-70. Hopefully Djarin does fall for the invisible clear coating to protect the paint and the cheap third party alarm. It probably took him a while to get the insurance company to payoff when they totaled the Razor Crest.

It has long been established that most of the ships are commercially produced vehicles and that there are multiples out there. In the show Djarin was even hoping to get another ST-70 when his was destroyed.

Why does Disney hate this movie?

Movie = great Marketing for the movie = trash

So I gather Mando needs to see a Hutt to prevent war. Gorgu does silly things. Lots of monsters to fight. Yup ...😒 Somehow the Razor Crest returned....

Glad to see all the creatures and aliens absent from Andor are out in full force here. That albino dragon-snake is sublime.

That's for sure the plus of this. It really only needs to beat Solo by 25mil or so to be at a break even point. If this film needed to hit 700/800mil, they could have had some major problems. But who knows, it could do those numbers anyway. As I've said before, this will be a good test to see where the fandom is with star wars.
