Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and running back Kenneth Walker III visited Disneyland Resort on Monday to celebrate their Super Bowl LX victory over the New England Patriots.
The players participated in a parade down Main Street, U.S.A., and experienced attractions during the park's 70th anniversary celebration.
Champions Parade Through Disneyland Park
Less than 24 hours after winning the championship, Darnold and Walker led a cavalcade at Disneyland park. Mickey Mouse and Disney characters joined the parade, dressed in special 70th anniversary outfits.
Thousands of fans lined the parade route, many wearing Seahawks jerseys. The procession traveled down Main Street, U.S.A., giving guests a chance to see the Super Bowl champions.
Super Bowl Commercial Tradition Continues
Disney aired its classic "I'm Going to Disneyland" commercial immediately after the Seahawks' 29-13 victory Sunday night. Camera crews captured Darnold and Walker making the famous declaration on the field in Santa Clara, California.
This continues a tradition that started in 1987 when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms first said the phrase after Super Bowl XXI.
Homecoming for Darnold
The Disneyland visit represents a homecoming for Darnold, who grew up in San Clemente, approximately 35 miles from the resort. He played college football at the University of Southern California.
Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III delivered a standout performance in the championship game, helping power Seattle to victory.
