Orlando International Airport (MCO) rolled out upgraded tram service to Gates 100-129 today. The new Gate Link service replaces aging equipment with new vehicles and modernized infrastructure, giving you a smoother ride between the main terminal and your gate.
The launch is part of MCO's $6.9 billion Capital Improvement Program, a long-term investment in updating the airport.
What's New on This Track
The upgraded track is the first completed piece of MCO's $253 million Gate Link Replacement Project. The work included:
- New trains
- New running surfaces
- Power distribution equipment
- Vehicle controls
- Communications and operating systems
- Platform screen doors
Each new Gate Link train can carry up to 240 passengers.
"Through our $6.9 billion Capital Improvement Program, we are building an airport for the future, and this Gate Link milestone brings that vision to life with a smoother, more dependable experience for passengers," said Lance Lyttle, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
What's Next
Crews will now move to the second track serving Gates 100-129. That track will stay under construction while the newly finished track handles passenger traffic, so Gate Link service continues without interruption.
Once both tracks at Gates 100-129 are complete, the project shifts to Gates 70-99. There, crews will replace both tracks, trains, and supporting systems.
If you're connecting through MCO's Gates 100-129, expect a smoother, more reliable tram ride starting now.
