Disney Skyliner Closure Begins Today at Walt Disney World

The Disney Skyliner at Walt Disney World closed today for its annual maintenance period.

The gondola system will remain unavailable through January 31, 2026, affecting all routes connecting EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and four resort hotels.

Alternative Transportation During Closure

Guests staying at Disney's Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort, and Pop Century Resort can use complimentary bus service to reach EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The buses will operate on standard resort transportation schedules throughout the closure.

Annual Maintenance Pattern

This refurbishment follows Disney's established maintenance schedule for the Skyliner. The system has typically closed each January since 2022 for routine inspections and upkeep.

Reopening Date

The Disney Skyliner is scheduled to resume normal operations on February 1, 2026.

I just tried to go from DHS to Epcot and I was told that the Epcot line isn't running. I am now walking to epcot.

Skyliner is running with guests. At least the Pop-CBR line is. Can't vouch for the others yet.

Forgot to post this the other night…. They did fix the digital signs inside Epcot. The first night of the closure it still listed skyliner.

They're starting to put the gondolas back on the line. This one is the HS <-> CBR. The line was empty earlier when I park hopped to HS. I also saw Doppelmayr people at the station running it with CMs.

FYI there is currently a « Skyliner bus » that shuttles between AOA/POP/CBR/RIV

I agree with you, for sure. It would be helpful if and when the skyliner goes down for weather, they could send out a notification in the app so you can plan your Epcot adventure and know to exit at the front of the park for a bus.

Winds picked up through Florida before this storm system moved in. I should know. I was on I-10 yesterday and got home before the storms rolled in. It was not pleasant driving. Add to that the extreme cold temperatures. Let's just hope these conditions don't delay the annual refurbishment. It's perfect timing otherwise.

It ain't supposed to be "gloppy" like that... it's supposed to be reddish and ricey, not saucy with white rice in the middle. That plate looks more like a serving of thick, gloppy gumbo than any jambalaya I've ever had.

Not sure if you’re just being sarcastic but I think information should be shared in ways other than the app. It’s “yes and” - the app should give info but signs should also offer info I think?
