Disney has confirmed that the Disney Skyliner will undergo refurbishment again in early 2027. The gondola transportation system will be closed from January 24 through January 30, 2027. Complimentary bus service will be available during this period.
Transportation During the Closure
Guests staying at Disney's Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort, and Pop Century Resort will have access to bus service to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios while the Skyliner is offline.
Previously Announced 2026 Refurbishment
Back in April 2025, Disney announced that the Skyliner will also close from January 25-31, 2026 for routine maintenance. Like the 2027 closure, bus service will replace the gondola system during that week.
Since its debut in 2019, the Skyliner has become a central part of Walt Disney World's transportation system. To keep the system operating reliably, Disney has scheduled short refurbishment windows, usually in January. Closures previously occurred in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
There was no January closure in 2025, but the return of scheduled downtime in both 2026 and 2027 suggests a reestablished pattern of winter maintenance.
The Skyliner is expected to resume normal service on February 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027.
