Boat service on the Sassagoula River Cruise route will be unavailable for guests staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort starting Monday, July 20, through early August 2026.

Disney says refurbishment work is taking place along the boat route during this time. Boat transportation to Disney Springs will not run while the work is underway.

If you're staying at Old Key West Resort during this period, plan to use Walt Disney World bus service to reach Disney Springs instead. Boats will not be running on this route until early August.

Disney has not given an exact return date beyond "early August." Check with your resort front desk or the My Disney Experience app for updates closer to your visit.

Free for resort guests. Maybe there would be a use for those non-resort guests after all!

Sometimes it is, but I doubt this is. They did the same with the boat docks at the MK resorts, gave a week or two notice, pretty poor even by their standards.

Some of the work being done at the moment on the wall, continuing on from the section done previously between springs and Saratoga dock

Sometimes work is unexpected. I’m not saying this is one of those times (have no way of knowing) but sometimes the short notice is because it was a project they weren’t planning on doing (at least not right then).

Imagineers spent lots of money on a research trip to find out that beignets are made near a salt dome and then shipped in crates to be handled by a co op. Provided that pesky snake doesn’t snatch them. *only assuming the research trip was only spent on bourbon street…..*

I just can never get over how far in advance they expect the consumer to plan, but how little notice they can give their consumer to something of this magnitude. I get it’s in the fine print. But do better.

I think they are fine just as they are.

Good grief how’s about dough made by hand with fresh ingredients, not in an industrial kitchen and shipped in an 18 wheeler to a distribution warehouse where its sits until it’s transferred to its end destination restaurant where it will sit refrigerated until its needed. Yummmm

Should take out the engines and put in some paddles for the guests to save money on fuel.
