Construction walls removed at Main Street Confectionery - September 2021
Posted: Thursday September 9, 2021 8:28am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

The construction walls have been removed from around the Main Street Confectionery store at the Magic Kingdom.

The walls have been in place since May 2021, with the shop itself being closed since March 29. We do not yet have a reopening date, but removing the walls and the upcoming start of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary would suggest an opening is not far away.

When the Main Street Confectionery reopens, there will be a brand new look, new interactive features to customize your confections, and an expanded layout.

It will still have show kitchens. It is crazy that it might not hit the 10/1 target. They closed it way back in March to ensure it would be ready for the 50th, but I guess we just have to wait and see.

What on earth could be taking so long? Trouble getting parts for kitchen appliances?

Last I had heard, it won’t make 10/1, though. Have they accelerated? Maybe they just want the exterior clean by 10/1. I was led to believe they reopened the place in Storybook Circus because this is taking so long.

Oh Lord, I'm scared to see what it looks like inside given their recent retail design decisions.

I was hoping Blad Chapek would be the mascot for the Harmony Barber Shop. ;)
