Emporium Refurbishment - April 17, 2025
Posted: Thursday April 17, 2025 7:!5am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Construction continues inside Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Emporium, with new closures and reopenings affecting guest flow through the park’s largest retail location.

The Hall of Champions and House of Magic sections are now closed off and behind construction walls as floor replacement work moves into this area. At the same time, another portion of the Emporium has reopened to guests, now featuring the same light-colored tile flooring that’s been gradually added throughout the project.

With this latest change, the shortcut through the Emporium from Main Street to Adventureland is once again available, restoring a convenient path for guests navigating between lands.

The Emporium has remained open throughout the phased refurbishment, but rotating closures will continue to affect specific sections as the work progresses.

Referb/Rephineas, does this provide a sufficient hint ?

Saw this mostly finished yesterday. It doesn’t look nearly as bad in person. Some fake hardwood floors would make it look a lot better. Home goods is despicable.

DL Emporium below. Shh. Don't tell WDW management. They might communicate to DL management and eliminate the old timey feel.

Maybe once its Rephineas is complete.

This is probably off topic but when is the Train Station's Referb supposed to be completed?

This is a perfect example of today’s WDW. Very, very sad. And it’s only going to get worse.

You misspelled, "Authentic, weathered, time-period-accurate waste receptacle". ;)

Freshly redecorated retail space marred by a clearly used, abused and unrepainted trash can right there in the foreground...

Registers and an exit door near the front of the Emporium (closest to the park entrance) are now behind walls:

Writers Stop, def the best. Its sad how the majority of shops in that park are gone, they have consolidated everything into just a few places left and eradicated anything with charm like writers stop. :banghead:

I miss the bookstore that used to be in MGM. Disney owns a pretty good sized publisher - the lack of bookstores on property strikes me as odd.

To be fair, the last few times I was in there, it felt mostly full of inexpensive trinkets and stuffed animals. Long gone are the days of movies, books, office items, kitchen accessories, et al. Basically anything of interest to anyone over the age of 8.
