Big Top Souvenirs reopening August 2021

Sweet treats are back in a big way at the Magic Kingdom with the reopening of Big Top Souvenirs in Storybook Circus.

The large store is now primarily operating as a sweet shop, with most merchandise racks closed.

With the merchandise moved out, tables and chairs have been brought in, offering a nice air-conditioned space to eat.

With the closure of the Main Street Confectionery store for refurbishment, the Magic Kingdom has lacked a location with a full line-up of freshly made sweet treats.

Operating hours for Big Top Souvenirs are currently 10am to 7pm daily.

Exactly. It sounds silly but we were actually bummed at the treat situation in June. Confectionary was closed, as was this, so there was no option for fresh treats at MK. DHS closed all theirs years ago. We like Karamell Kuche, but it has had very limited offerings since reopening last year. Most hotels have less than usual (BoardWalk is an exception, but we discovered that too late). We like unique, fresh (ish) treats.

Good to see the “ big tent “ reopened. I welcome any display of Disney treats. Wish it was open when we were on our recent trip. Anything’s better than a closed deserted space.

The tables were there a few Saturday's ago (8/21) when I was at MK.

No

Side note, do we know when the Main Street Confectionary will reopen?

Oh how I hope the original carpet returns at some point - the way it was printed to look like the floor of a circus tent was actually surprisingly convincing.

any idea why Disney continues to put mold invested carpet down?

They have a supply problem of merchandise getting the USA.

Ah. Good to know. Looked like laminate from the pictures.

Must be an absolute nightmare for Mr. Merchandising himself, Bob Chapek.

It is still carpet - but looks like wood

The floor is different too. It used to look like a circus tent and was soft to walk on. Looks like they replaced it with hard lamenate flooring.

Yes, asked the Cast Member about the change Sunday and she said they did it overnight and they didn't know about it. Said they are trying something new. Seems pretty silly if you ask me. I bet it will be short lived.

I prefer this. I know merch space is limited, but honest, there’s still enough. A/Ced space to enjoy a caramel apple sounds lovely.
