Disney has shared the first look at the newly redesigned Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, with the updated units set to debut over the coming months.
Walt Disney Imagineering revealed the new design in a video that gives an inside look at the creative and construction process behind the reimagined villas.
In the video, the Imagineering team explained that the design process drew inspiration from Disney's animation history — looking back across 100 years to consider which characters might feel at home in the treehouse setting.
The team walked through their full development process:
- Virtual model room — digital designs are built out to visualize the full space before anything physical is constructed
- Functional model room — the actual functionality of the space is tested, from layout to how guests will interact with the room
- Contractor model room — the physical design is built out and used as the reference for all subsequent builds across the Treehouse Villas
That contractor model room is the final step before construction rolls out unit by unit across the property.
Disney confirmed earlier this year that the Treehouse Villas refurbishment would run in phases through mid-September 2026. The 60 standalone octagonal villas are being updated one cluster at a time, meaning some units will be available to guests while others are under construction.
