When Disney released the sample pricing for Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser back in August 2021, it surpassed most people's expectations. It led to many wondering if the experience could ever be worth the $5000 to $6000 that the two-night, two-day starcruiser voyage costs.

During the recent media previews, national reporter for Newsy Clayton Sandell asked that very question to two of Disney's creative executives that were made available to answer questions.

Executive Creator Director Wendy Anderson said, "The depth of storytelling, the amount of play, the amount of engagement that a person is going to experience, I don't think you are going to question the cost."

Executive Producer Ann Morrow Johnson added, "This truly is a two-day piece of immersive theater that's also a game, that's also a cruise experience, that is also a way to live you Star Wars story, so I'm not sure it can be compared to anything we have seen in the past."

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser opens to paying guests today, March 1 2022 at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Yes, things (entertainment / distraction) that guests, fans, travelers would actually like / enjoy. Careful! you are being creative, imaginative and thinking about the visitors having fun.

Grand Naboo Palace Hotel. Luxury hotel that could be enjoyed by Star Wars fans and rich people alike. Star Wars Adventure Inn. Fairly normal "low" cost Disney Hotel. Have different a few different areas based on different planets. Tatooine, Hoth and Endor. Have theming around them. Have a pool with an AT-AT with a water slide coming out of it's butt. Character meet and greets. Big Cantina, Tatooine market themed dinning hall. Don't at all care about eras or having in built story lines for guests. It's just Star Wars stuff. Have a couple of X-Wings parked in the carpark. Other ships and things around the resort. Build a tower that looks like Padme's apartment building on Coruscant for Hotel suites. It's all so simple.

Shame because a Star Wars hotel would’ve worked with a different theme and a more normal execution.

You never know? Unless someone has concrete evidence the Starcruiser has been gutted, you never know. While, yes its currently office space, Josh was the one who was quoted, "something will happen" with the Starcruiser and now that he is boss, whatever might have been tying his hands is now gone?

Is this subforum going to be shelved? I remember when there was so much hype, but they gave us 1% wealth-admitted Disney Star Wars instead of 10% Star Wars.

There is this hotel in France (Station Cosmos) that has a very Star Wars influenced theme (though not officially Star Wars). Goes for around 300 euros a night per family with tickets to their complex included. I believe it could have been successful as a hotel only in a resort with Star Wars or multiple IPs, and the LARP component as a premium add-on.

I'm pretty sure the Imagineers of days past survived projects they worked on being killed. And there were alot of them, even well into development (Tony Baxter seemed to have the most)

You have to assume they are primarily using the support buildings adjacent to the main Starcruiser building? I wonder if this is going to be the DHS WDI field office for Monstropolis/RNRC to save them having to build demountables like they are at DAK and MK?

I bet the daily reminder that your project could die at any time really helps morale

It's openly discussed by cast members that it is now the home of Imagineering Central Florida.

"Disney has a history of abandoning things and letting them rot..." TAX WRITE OFF! (the same way when an apartment complex has an empty apartment, they get to write it off on their taxes)

They're not short of parking lot space.
