The guest room refurbishment project at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is now complete, with over 1,000 rooms refreshed to reflect the New Orleans-inspired theme of the resort.

Here’s what you’ll notice in the newly refurbished guest rooms:

  • Interior Design: Rooms now feature bright, patterned fabrics and finishes inspired by French Quarter architecture. The color palette reflects the energy of New Orleans, with updated textures and design elements that feel more modern while staying on-theme.

  • Character Artwork: New portraits of Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Charlotte from The Princess and the Frog are included in each room. The characters are shown in Mardi Gras attire, adding a layer of personality and park connection.

  • Thematic Details: Guests will find small nods to Mardi Gras and jazz culture—like beads, musical instruments, and Tiana’s tiara—worked into the décor above the beds and in other room details.

  • Bathrooms: The updated bathrooms now offer better storage, brighter lighting, and more functional counter space. These changes aim to help families move more easily through morning and evening routines.

In addition to the rooms, other parts of the resort have been updated:

  • Doubloon Lagoon Pool Area: Surfaces have been refreshed, and the surrounding area features new decorative touches.
  • Mardi Grogs Pool Bar: Now sports a cleaner, more open look with light blue accents, new tilework, and wrought iron touches that align with the rest of the resort’s New Orleans style.

“These updates bring our story to life in exciting new ways,” said Diane Petit, General Manager of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. “Everything ties back to the charm and culture that our guests love.”

Okay 👍. Understood

I was talking about pool bars, not pools.

AylaMay 24, 2025

SAB pool bar is accessible to anyone

DisoneMay 24, 2025

Sorry for any confusion. While I was adding to your list I meant it more in the context of pools that are locked off and you cannot just pool hop too. Was not commenting on if was a bar withing that locked off area.

Hurricane Hannah’s is the pool bar at SAB. I thought it was accessible from the path along Crescent Lake? Not sure if BRV has a pool bar? Isn’t Geyser Point the equivalent?

DisoneMay 24, 2025

And of course Stormalong bay at yacht and beach club and the boulder ridge pool at WL.

Bay Lake and Kidani are restricted.

I've stayed at French Quarter and Riverside in the last year with my wife and I and our twin 22-year-olds. We did just fine as far as the size of the rooms.

Pix E. DustMay 21, 2025

Oh ok. I've stayed there but didn't remember the rooms being small. It was awhile ago though.

AylaMay 21, 2025

No. They've always been small.

Pix E. DustMay 21, 2025

They didn't change the size, did they?

AylaMay 21, 2025

Double post.
