Disney Clearing Polynesian Parking Lot for New Guest Entrance Road

Jun 16, 2025 in "Disney's Polynesian Resort"

Posted: Monday June 16, 2025 6:25am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

A section of the parking lot at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is being cleared to make way for a new vehicle entrance to the resort. The project is part of Disney’s larger infrastructure changes following the Island Tower addition.

The reconfiguration will separate bus and car traffic by repurposing the existing entrance road as a dedicated bus-only route. A new road will be constructed to serve as the main arrival point for cars and other non-bus vehicles.

By splitting the traffic flow, Disney aims to streamline the arrival process for resort guests, reducing congestion and improving safety. The current parking lot work is focused near the front entrance area, where crews are clearing pavement and shifting guest parking away from the future road alignment.

Disney has not yet released a timeline for the road construction.

It was nice back in the day when they used to keep them clean...To me it is like anything concrete in Florida...it will darken and get mildew etc... That however is really the least of the problems at WDW. May other things need to be addressed more than that...

According to some on here, that dirt, grease & filth is the ONLY thing holding those supports up…

Every so often around here, the topic of dirty monorail supports comes out. Thinking they need to clean them on a more recurring basis. :)

Nothing crossed my mind other then a run down area that needed some TLC.

Any expected end date?

Are you even a sailor if you don't like getting wet?

I've always thought it's odd the Yacht Club doesn't have a covered walkway either. It'd be easy to add.

Does anyone know if there is still scaffolding on the main building?

I must say I have never seen such a positive attitude as you display over your vast posting history. It is so impressive to be able to rest my eyes on an incredible uplifting library of factual unbiased opinions of the operation side in a fantasy resort that I have to retire and ponder what a life changing experience I have had reading your authoritative digression

Agreed and with the money they charge for this resort you’d think this would be common priority

One thing I never understood with the Poly’s bus stop was the uncovered sidewalk from the lobby to the bus stop. Most if not all deluxe resorts (please correct me if I am wrong) have a covered walkway to the resort’s bus stop. I’m surprised Disney didn’t add one with this project.

Let’s maybe use a different phrase that doesn’t carry with it such, uh, let’s say outdated connotations and implications.

Disney builds this new nice bus stop at the poly, but look up at the Monorail concrete supports.......absolute FILTH!!. Let's get those power washers out and spruce a few things up. Looks like a Ghetto.
