Disney has updated the refurbishment notice for Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, with the boat dock set to close for routine maintenance beginning May 11.
The dock will be closed and boat transportation suspended from May 11 through June 5. Broader dock maintenance work continues through late June.
You should plan for alternate transportation to Magic Kingdom and other destinations typically served by the resort's boat service during that period, including bus, monorail or walkway. Disney advises allowing extra travel time when arriving at or departing the resort.
Construction activity will be visible during daytime hours, though Disney says efforts will be made to minimize disruptions.
The dock closure is the latest update to ongoing refurbishment work at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows that runs through 2026. That work includes a reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway and bus area. Resort dining, pools, and most amenities remain open, though some views of the theme parks and surrounding areas may be impacted.
