Disney's Grand Floridian Upcoming Lobby Bar Gets an Official Name: 'The Perch'

Disney has revealed the name of the new lobby bar at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - The Perch.

The announcement came through the official DisneyEats Instagram, which also listed a November 10, 2025 opening date. That post has since been removed, leaving it unclear whether the date is still current.

Inspired by the iconic birdcage in the atrium, the bar will highlight detailed woodwork, brass accents, and vibrant stained glass with bird motifs. This bar marks a major step forward in the resort's lobby refurbishment. No menu details or pricing is yet available.

No, it isn't. Personally, though, that doesn't bother me hugely as, at least from the pictures, it conjures up the correct feeling for me and intuitively makes sense even if it is not a literal reproduction of any space that ever existed. I don't, for example, see it and wonder why a grand Victorian hotel would have a bar in that location or why it would be that colour rather than white. That is, of course, just my subjective response, but in a general sense I think Disney theming has traditionally worked most effectively in that more intuitive sense. Other aspects don't intuitively fit that space for me, such as the benches and probably even the lighting in the bar.

Yes and, the elevator as well. The elevator and the bird cage were designed to compliment each other. Now the eye is naturally drawn to one and not the other. But again, we could have the enchanted rose style in the middle of the lobby so I’m going to thank Walt that it’s at least good for what it is.

Is the Raffles bar in the middle of the lobby, plopping a mass of stained wood in the middle of a white interior? It doesn’t seem to be. If Disney had converted the Tea Room into a bar with a similar aesthetic, I don’t think anyone would have minded very much.

I believe so and it desperately needs it. They could use cutricos for breakfast and tea room for dinner while they close the cafe for refurb potentially

I'd settle for having my soda made that way (sans the face part)😂

I got my head bitten off when I asked this question for the B&B...but...here goes: Does it have a soda gun? My "guilty pleasure" is soda...and I've always/only liked it best out of the fountain (vs. can or bottle)

After the Team Room is done, is the only thing that hasn't been renovated in the main building Grand Floridan Cafe?

I think the way it sticks out is what works for me, to be honest. I know it is a very specific reference and a hotel in a different part of the world, but it is does remind me of Raffles as a big luxury hotel in the same general style and from the same time period as Grand Floridian's precisely because the hotel does contrast stained wood with white interiors and I suspect that is how a bar like this would have looked in a hotel from that era.

It definitely sticks out - the birdcage and elevator cage were designed to compliment each other - and did. This really sticks out - design wise. I wish it blended in better. But it is nicely designed - and fits the time and elegance of the grand - I was expecting something like the enchanted rose so I’m pleasantly surprised

I know there are differing views about alcohol consumption on this thread, however the bar itself really works for me aesthetically. For some reason, looking at it conjures up memories of Raffles in Singapore and I think Disney theming at its best is like that in that it conjures up a concept in a way that makes sense intuitively (in this case, a grand old Victorian hotel) without literally reproducing it. As I've mentioned before, I would quibble with some of the finishings such as the bar stools and tiles. Overall, though, I think the bar itself looks right for the space. The fact they're selling things there doesn't make it "un-Disney" in this case for me. Again, though, I think opinions on that will come down to attitudes to alcohol consumption in general. Edit: Looking at some pictures of Raffles hotel bars, I must admit things like the barstools and tiles at Grand Floridian aren't that different from the current furnishings at that hotel. So, I guess that is an example of how a hotel from the same era (albeit in a different part of the world) is being operated in the present, in that case as a luxury hotel.

I’ve seen it but didn’t know it was from Lillian - definitely fits her style and what a lovely touch of the Disney family! I’m glad it’s still on display and I’ll make special note to appreciate it next time!

Was scared this was lost, but it reappeared recently. This lace work was a gift from Lillian Disney to the hotel for its opening. It’s been updated in a new frame.
