Disney has today shared a first look at the new room designs coming to Disney's Contemporary Resort across all nine floors of guest rooms in the main tower.

As expected, Disney has followed the recent trend of incorporating existing characters into the hotel and has chosen the Incredibles as the movie-tie-in.

According to Disney, the "rooms will blend a sleek Monorail motif with some favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Incredibles” films, including Jack-Jack, Frozone and Edna Mode. New custom artwork in guest rooms and along guest corridors will be modern, futuristic and oh so stylish, dahling, complementing the resort’s architecture while putting the Supers’ powers on display."

As a comparison, here is a look at the existing room design from a tower room at the Contemporary with the new design beneath.

New additions to the lobby will include a collection of modern art pieces as well as historical, behind-the-scenes photographs of Disney's Contemporary Resort in development and under construction.

The resort's lobby restaurant, The Wave… of American Flavors, will close July 16 to make way for a reimagined dining experience in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration, although Disney has not yet confirmed if or how the Incredibles will be incorporated into the restaurant.

The refurbishment began in April 2021 with the arrival of massive construction scrims covering the rooms inside the main tower. Once the tower guest rooms are complete, work will begin on the rooms inside the Garden Wing out on the shore of Bay Lake.

I wish the Grand Canyon Concourse was also getting a refresh, I don’t think it can get any worse than what it looks like right now.

As someone who loves the art of the Incredibles, I don’t find the mid century modern type design all that bad of a fit. I personally kind of like it.

Maybe its the lighting but it looks really bland and sad.

For anyone like me that had no idea what the Napa Room was, you can click here. I really hope the Bobs got a "best day ever!" cookie at the end of their meal. What percentage tip do you think the CEO of the company would leave to his own employee?

Funny how no one brings up its obvious similarities to the City of Domes from Logans Run and its constant mantra of Renew!

Returning to the scene of the hideous room design crime?

That will be nice, I haven't been up there for a breakfast/brunch in years. While not totally Contemporary related. I can confirm that Bob and Bob C are dining at the Cali Grill right now in the Napa Room.

CA Grill will be adding breakfast beginning 7/18 while the Wave is down.

LOL, what a coincidence. My dad used to call The Contemporary Resort "The Prison". That's before he saw that they have hot towels in the restrooms though.

I’m actually surprised they didn’t move the wave to one of the ballrooms during this or even to California Grill for breakfast service. It’s interesting that they’re ok with not having a standard table service at the resort for so long. They could definitely use a second bar somewhere too, just not sure where as they’re also moving the lobby to level 2 for renos

The Polynesian quite literally had two bars within the upper lobby, so I'm skeptical.
