The Village Green at Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas is open again, ahead of its scheduled reopening date. Disney closed the courtyard on August 10, 2026 for refurbishment, with a planned reopening of September 4. It's back open now, more than a week early.

The refurbished Village Green has new turf. The lawn is a bright green synthetic surface, replacing the worn artificial grass that was there before.

Movie Under the Stars, yoga, and crafts had moved to other spots on property during the closure. With the Village Green back open, these activities can return to their usual location.

The Village Green work is one piece of a longer refurbishment at Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas that runs through late 2026. A second phase is set for January 11 through April 2027, when the Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations close for routine maintenance. The Villas Pool and Inn Pool will stay open during that stretch.

So, is this "Field Turf" (with the rubber pellet dirt) like you see on most modern artificial playing surfaces? Or just new astroturf like was there before?

Keep all the existing infrastructure and refurbish the rooms, restaurants and lobby and sell at $370/pt.

It really won’t be that interesting.
I was just at Bwk for a meal, and where we parked in self-parking just a few years ago is now valet.

We tried the Cake Bake shop for lunch. It was rather pricey for lunch, considering most the menu is sandwiches. That said, they were fairly good sandwiches, esp in today's WDW. The Club sandwich is very big, easily could be shared. The cake slices are also very big, and can easily be shared. In that sense, the $22 slice didn't seem so crazy.

Mid-August they had up what I think is supposed to be fall decor, but it was like white Christmas trees and wreathes with brown flowers. It looked like Christmas decorations in the wrong colors. Just a bit of an odd choice.

The place isn't all that big, but every table's meal was very slow, which is odd given that most of the lunch menu is salads and sandwiches. It was also more than half empty, but both explain why it is still a little hard to get dining there. It was fun to try once, but we probably won't be rushing to return.
