Disney's All-Star Movies Resort Room Refurbishment Starts Late May 2026

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort is heading into a room refurbishment starting late May 2026 at Walt Disney World. The work runs through the end of January 2027 - just over eight months of construction activity at the value resort.

Disney says guests staying during the refurbishment may see or hear construction work, and alternate paths of travel may be in place at times.

Disney hasn't specified which room buildings will be affected first or how the work will be phased across the property. That's typical for rolling room refurbs - Disney tends to close sections progressively rather than pulling an entire resort offline.

What is confirmed:

  • Construction noise is possible during your stay
  • Some walking routes around the resort may change
  • All resort amenities are expected to remain open

The Fantasia Pool, Duck Pond Pool, and kiddie pool are not listed as affected by this work.

All-Star Movies received a significant room overhaul in the late 2010s and early 2020s, which brought updated flooring, a Murphy-style fold-down second bed, improved storage, better charging options, and a refreshed bathroom layout. This upcoming refurbishment appears to be a separate wave - it's not yet clear whether this will be a soft-goods update (linens, flooring, furnishings) or a more comprehensive reimagining.

Planning around the refurbishment

If you have a stay booked at All-Star Movies between late May 2026 and January 2027, you'll want to factor in the possibility of some daytime construction noise. Requesting a room away from active work areas is worth doing once more details about phasing become available.

If you're flexible on dates, booking before late May 2026 or after January 2027 avoids the construction period entirely.

Disney has not shared details on whether guests will get access to newly refurbished rooms during this period or only upon completion.

Having just returned from Pop, I loved the pop of colors with the new window curtain, new chair back fabric, and new accented walls. The fake rug on the floor looked like clutter and I kept thinking I was tripping over something that was not there. LOL!

I feel like Pops recent minor room refresh was intended to reverse the all white doctors office / overly sterile update. As noted they infused some color ( new paint on accent wall ) and soften the room with the rug. Assume this will be similar as it was also seen as being OVERLY white and lifeless

This is probably near identical to the 2025 pop room refurb - the rooms changed very little, a new rug and replaced any damaged furniture, and a fresh coat of paint. They did these one side of the building at the time, so not full building closure, at least not initially.

If pools close Disney always announce it. It’s unlikely that pools would close for a room refurbishment though. Keep an eye on this thread and the resort page on the WDW site.

Is the noise usually an issue with this going on. I am concerned that amenities will be closed, ie pools etc

Hope they are planning to inject a bit more life into the rooms. They went too bland and generic with the last redesign.

we stayed at movies a few years ago & found the changes were a big improvement from how the rooms used to look. only complaint was the room felt tighter. i’m curious how this new update will look.

Pretty sure Disney has learned that nobody actually wants those designs.

HuntrixOwlMouse98Mar 09, 2026

They better lose and get rid of the Rudish Mickey designs on the bedroom elements (like the Mickey, Minnie, and Donald art piece and the artwork of the Nephews on the Murphy bed) and revert them to the classic, corporate style that guests known for years, because they need to stop milking those TVA/Mercury designs to death

Thanks, appreciate the info!

Our first visit to Disney 21 ish years ago we stayed at Movies. Our son was about 4. We were near the Mighty Ducks pool and we had an awesome time that kicked off a whole series of WDW visits as our son grew up. Great memories! Agree with Tuvalu on the refurb - we were at FQ a couple of times this past year - they were definitely going building by building. Virtually no impact for anyone staying there.

For the recent POFQ and POR room refurbishment, an entire building was closed. I imagine this would be true for the All Stars, since Disney would not want guests in an active construction zone (which would include elevators).

Having not been around a place like this when rooms are undergoing refurb (to my recollection, but it’s been a long time since I stayed at an All Star), do they close an entire building at once? One floor at a time? Genuinely curious.
