Glad you were able to get your spot(s) this time around! We waited about 20mins in the VQ and were able to grab ours for the Dec 15th MM.

It looks like i may have been a little early. I was on the oage that should take me to the virtual queue at 11 AM, but then it refreshed itself and wanted my Membership Number and gave me that error message. At 10 AM, I refreshed the page and was able to get to the pre-queue page again. The chat was very busy, too, with an hour wait so I'm guessing a lotbof others had the same issue. Hopefully that's the last IT-related panic for the day. Edit to update: I was able to get in and register pretty easily after kess than 10 minutes in the queue. Luckily, I had multiple screens trying because the first one to open told me my Membership Number was incorrect, but my 2nd screen got through at almost the exact same time and worked without any issues.

Is anyone else having issues joining the queue this morning? I'm not sure if it's because registration hasn't officially opened yet (although this wasn't an issue the last time I tried) but I'm getting error messages saying I don't have a valid resort reservation required to register even though I definitely do and have received multiple emails from DVC telling me I am eligible to register because I have a reservation booked with my points for the 11/18 event. Is this just more crappy Disney IT?

FWIW, we attended a MM at Typhoon Lagoon in June and there were no coupons. Ice cream and drinks were unlimited, just grab and go (after maybe waiting in a line).

AKA get people to spend more money by trapping them in some sort of real estate venture where they don't own anything, but are covering the taxes on that which they don't own. Again, please keep in mind I only care because I want to see AK at night without having to join some expensive club that makes absolutely zero financial sense, or any other variation of an upcharge. If I could simply see it at night on Wednesday, I wouldn't care what happened on Thursday.

Moonlight Magic is paid for by DVC Marketing, as a lure to buy direct, dangling it in front of potential buyers (and non-eligible members).

I'd argue that it's still behind a paywall. They ain't given them DVCs away for free and AK closes early every day of the year. (Please keep in mind that at 97% of vitarol on this matter is derived solely from never having been able to see AK and night) But there are the parties too that seem to encapsulate more parks and days and other "after-hours" events from time to time. I was mostly being jestful, but, having been privy to high-level corporate meetings (not Disney) I can say with a fair amount of certainty that operating the parks with a separate admission for later in the day, even if it's oh so cleverly disguised as free, is viewed and reviewed as making people pay twice for what they should only have to pay for once. And, with only slightly less certainty, that the idea of an AM/PM admission across all parks and days has been brought up. Those parties, and for the love of Buddha, hold onto your hats and glasses now, aren't happening because they want to have all their friends over and everyone have a good time and maybe a few people will stick around and help clean up at the end and Tom can sleep it off on that bench near Partners if it come it again this time. They'd love to forego the party aspect and just charge you twice to stay the full day.

Moonlight Magic are free events for “eligible” DVC members. They don’t close the parks early for them either, so they don’t impact paying guests. (By eligible, they mean no riff raff members. 😉 )

nickysSep 19, 2025

I’ve never managed to go to one but I’d 100% go if there was one during a stay.

dlfan1313Sep 19, 2025

How long do you think it will be until Disney up and divides the day in half and charges two admissions for a full day? And for all you naysayers and backscratchers, don't you worry for a second. It will be super convenient to upgrade in the app, and it will be given a clever and charming little name to make it seem magical, so it's all good.

Chip ChippersonSep 19, 2025

Agreed. I wouldn't book a flight to FL just because of Moonlight Magic (it might influence the dates I book if I was already planning a trip and hadn't finalized the dates, though), but I think it is a great evening with lower crowds for members who are already staying at WDW or live nearby. I have never left a Moonlight Magic event feeling like we wasted our time attending it.

nickysSep 19, 2025

Fair enough for those who book to try and get tickets for MM. I don’t know how many members do that, but presumably only those who live relatively near. But if you already have a stay booked for one of the newly added dates then it’s costing you nothing to attend.

HauntedPirateSep 19, 2025

I don’t tend to book events for one singular thing. YMMV. 🤷‍♂️ That would be akin to buying a ticket to MNHSSP for the parade and nothing else. And in this case, you had to spend a hell of a lot more, or be staying with someone who did.

JaxFLBearSep 19, 2025

No free bottled drinks. If you want one, you either have to pay or use one of the snack coupons.
