Disney has officially announced the development of a brand-new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort hotel—Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Set to open in 2027, the new resort will be constructed within the same footprint as the previously announced Reflections—A Disney Lakeside Lodge project, which was shelved in 2020.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge will be inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists. According to Disney, the resort will offer a unique blend of rustic elegance and imaginative storytelling, providing guests with a serene escape along the shores of Bay Lake, between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.

The original Reflections project was announced in 2018 as a deluxe nature-themed resort featuring over 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. However, it was quietly shelved amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the area remained largely untouched until recent activity suggested the project might be revived.

Stay tuned for further updates as Disney Lakeshore Lodge begins to take shape and more information becomes available.

The regular rooms? I did videos of the treehouses and large a-frames. I can look tomorrow if it’d save @HauntedPiratesome time.

I appreciate you checking. Not a big deal if there weren't any useful layouts available. I'm a nerd who likes an interesting floorplan, so I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

I have been summoned. 😎 Give me a bit of time to dig up some info. @lentesta posted a virtual fly-through of an A-frame mockup a while back. I can try to get some layouts but from what I recall, these are basically regular cash and DVC room layouts (except the two cash suites).

Search for posts in this thread by @HauntedPirate . He has posted lots about the amenities, layout, room breakdowns etc.

I'm expecting Riviera-like room floor plans, and that'd be positive if happening. While I'm hopeful for a mashup of best parts of Riviera and Poly Tower floor plans, I acknowledge that room footprints were done years ago so we need to consider where they were in design a few years ago. We can already see how the exterior wall pushes either balconies or past, very similar to Riviera one and two bedroom living areas extending past adjacent bedrooms with shared balconies. The added square footage in the Riviera living areas is a great feature. I'd similarly expect another galley kitchen, and also the extra bathroom off loving areas (feedback on extra bathroom is a consistent positive at every resort it's appeared). Studios and hotel rooms I think would be great to be designed like Poly tower rooms that moved the kitchenette to shared bathroom wall (and leaving more room on TV wall for seating, etc) but the old Reflections concept art showed the kitchenette on TV, and I doubt Disney paid to completely replan plumbing, etc. That said, one of the casualties in the smaller poly tower studios with kitchenette layout was the split bathroom, so hopefully that returns.

I’m more meant that it’ll be fine as in. It’s not all doom and gloom and should turn out to look very nice in the end result, but yes, I also agree that the standard of theme used to be much much higher. If Josh is to be believed that he likes to take big risks, maybe we will see another highly themed hotel sometime in the future, but who knows

Paging @HauntedPirate !

Has anyone seen the layout of the new rooms (cash, DVC, cabins, + treehouses)? I'm a bit new to the page, and there's 191 pages of content, lol. Would love to see any layouts, if they're available, aside from whatever concept art got released from the "Reflection Days".

The funny thing is, they renamed that other side “Clemintine’s Beach” and thought we wouldn’t notice.

I think the problem is that Disney has become ok with 'just fine', as any traditional hotel chain would if they were tasked with this project. They used to separate themselves with creativity and immersiveness that brought us the Contemporary, Poly, GF, WL, AK, BW, etc. Eisner used to hire innovative architects and seek out new ideas - he even tried to build a crazy Mickey shaped hotel at one point

2027. That hasn't changed since it was announced.

When is this pig with lipstick gonna open?

The disheartening part is the Settlement now looks like it is in the same "Wilderness" as Central Park.

I think when it’s all set and done, it’ll look just fine from whatever views from other resorts people see it. A very curious about the A-frame cabins, they look like a nice addition.
