Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction - April, 2025
Posted: Friday April 25, 2025 12:45pm ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Construction at Disney Lakeshore Lodge continues to make significant progress, with vertical work now extending beyond the fifth floor. Recent photos show the scale of the resort beginning to take shape, with construction crews actively assembling structures across the site near Bay Lake.

The building method closely mirrors that used for the recently opened Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Large concrete wall sections are being lifted into place using cranes, allowing for rapid vertical development across multiple areas of the resort simultaneously. This method offers a clear look at the resort’s future layout and gives a sense of the overall size of the project.

Additional foundational and infrastructure work continues around the main resort buildings.

Views from nearby areas, including Pioneer Hall and the shoreline of Bay Lake, reveal the rapidly growing resort. The rising structures are visible over the tree lines and existing surroundings, providing an early glimpse of how the new resort will be integrated into the landscape between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open in 2027 and will offer deluxe Disney Vacation Club accommodations inspired by the majesty of nature and its role in Disney storytelling.

My travel trailer is much cheaper. Although that doesn't consider my tow vehicle. lol

@lentesta Check your DMs for some large A-frame cabin info.

It obviously depends on the model/features/sleeping capacity, but for a new 2025 model year RV that can sleep at least 5 people, you are looking at a minimum of $100k.

Clearly! 🤔

Depends on the RV....

I knew RVs wouldn’t be cheap but you just spent $75k plus maybe $3k a year in maintenance fees. If that is “an absolute bargain”, I hate to think what an RV costs. 😱

Have you ever camped there?? Buying and maintaining an RV is not cheap. In my experience the majority of those who camp at the Fort are higher income families that have plenty of disposable income. The holiday decorations, the exceptional quality of Halloween candies given away and scavenger hunts are just the tip of the iceberg. I bought 2 direct DVC contracts last year for a total 375 points and the cost pales in comparison to what my RV cost, plus the gas, tow vehicle purchased to haul the RV and the cost of renting a site. DVC is an absolute bargain compared to that!

Does anyone have photos of the view from the Fort Wilderness beach, looking out at either Discovery Island or the Contemporary? I'm using the SFWMD plans to render what the new cabin structures might look like. Having realistic background photos would be helpful.

honestly could see that - either there or maybe an extension to Animal Kingdom Lodge ... not a full replacement for the campgrounds, but "upgrade" a section of it? sure

But not for resale, you need to show your blue card to do your business

Definitely a lot of land ... this isn't based on anything but I would be shocked to see it all go away - I think they like having it as an option and highlight when people do the golf cart parades, etc Could definitely see part of it going away but probably beyond my lifetime before it is all gone

Glamping at $500 a night.....

Bob only wants those who are "income qualified" visiting the parks and staying at the resort hotels now. No room for the poors anymore.
