First Look: Gathering Spaces, Dining, and the Lobby at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Disney has shared new details about Disney Lakeshore Lodge, revealing the resort's lobby design and four new venues guests will find when the resort opens at Walt Disney World Resort in summer 2027.

The update covers three dining locations and a fireworks lounge, each with a distinct identity tied to the resort's nature and Disney storytelling themes.

The Lobby

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area and the natural landscape beyond, letting the outside in from the start. Underfoot, a shimmering fiberoptic river runs across the lobby floor, while overhead, a blown glass Colors of the Wind sculpture — made up of hundreds of suspended glass leaves — fills the ceiling with movement and color.

Natural materials run throughout the space, including custom tapestries inspired by Pocahontas and furnishings finished with river-recovered cypress wood accents. The whole design draws from the music and storytelling of Pocahontas, setting the tone for the resort before guests even reach their rooms.

Three Dining Locations

Disney Lakeshore Lodge opens with three dining options covering everything from a quick morning coffee to a waterfront dinner.

Moonglade

Moonglade is the resort's table-service restaurant, positioned along the lakefront with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Bay Lake. The menu focuses on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Artful lighting inside the space is designed to reflect the interplay of light and shadow through the cypress trees along the shore — so the view is part of the experience at any time of day.

Bay Lake Provisions

Bay Lake Provisions is the resort's all-day quick-service marketplace, set up for grab-and-go orders and casual dining. It covers specialty coffees, fresh fare, and an open-kitchen layout. Disney has also built in some hidden detail here — woodland critters inspired by Disney classics are tucked throughout the space for guests to find.

Paint Out Point Bar & Grill

Located near Lakeside Lagoon, Paint Out Point Bar & Grill is the resort's pool bar and grill, serving shareable bites and specialty drinks alongside views of The Wetlands. The concept is inspired by plein-air painting — the practice of painting outdoors from life — and the bar will display a collection of original artwork created by Walt Disney Imagineers who drew from the Bay Lake landscape for inspiration.

Dandelion Terrace

Separate from the three dining venues, Dandelion Terrace is a two-story lounge designed specifically around the Magic Kingdom park fireworks. Guests gather here after dark to watch the nighttime spectacular over the waters of Bay Lake.

Inside, the lounge features a two-story gallery of archival artwork from Disney classics including Fantasia, with whimsical dandelion light fixtures throughout. Soft lighting and unobstructed water views make it a natural end-of-evening spot.

More details on Disney Lakeshore Lodge — including recreational offerings and additional design elements — are expected in the months ahead. The resort is projected to open at Walt Disney World Resort in summer 2027.

I completely agree that OKW is well themed. The buildings are what I would have expected. The rooms were nice and colorful. However, I'm not one to get too upset if the rooms are not perfectly themed. I find the rooms at the Wilderness Lodge fun (probably from before the most recent update) but my biggest concern is cleanliness and quiet. Port Orleans rooms are nice but the buildings are well themed as well. I don't have the most confidence in the new Lakeshore Lodge. The lobby and restaurant look okay but it isn't really appealing to me as a Disney resort.

My fear with OKW is that they would, or will, butcher the room refurb like they did with the front desk area.

Either that, or there were too many margaritas consumed prior to installation. 🍹 (That is a flaw at OKW, granted, but even that can't take away from the overall theme and feel of the resort)

I think there ate some resorts where the look of the resort itself invokes a time or a place. WL, AKL, Boardwalk, Y&B, Poly longhouses, OKW. The Contemporary -which is just unique in itself with the A-frame and monorail. Some, like Kidani, also have themed rooms to the resort style. Then there is the Poly Tower. Out of place, non descript, bland. But the rooms have been designed to invoke the spirit of Polynesia. Unique, textured wall decorative motifs and so on. Saratoga as a resort is nothing particularly special, but they did do a good job with the rooms in the recent refurb, to reflect the horse racing theme The OKW villas definitely need a refurb but they do have elements of the seaside houses, I loved the prints on the wall, the lamp and rug, for example.

I don’t think he was meaning the rooms. It’s more likely he meant the style of the buildings. They invoke the feel of the Keys from a century or so ago. Large balconies, wooden shutters and so on.
