If you missed the past week, here's what mattered: three Halloween party dates are all that's left, The Magic of Disney Animation is days from opening, and Disney quietly dropped the 2027 target date for Tropical Americas from a key planning page.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: Three Dates Left
Of the 38 party nights this season, just three remain available: September 24 ($174), September 29 ($184), and October 25 ($224). Every other date has sold out, following a pace that tracks almost identically with 2025, which sold out completely on September 24. The one exception this year was August 30, which ran without selling out — the first party night in four years to do so, likely a combination of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights opening weekend and heavy rain across Central Florida.
If you want to go, September 24 is the most affordable of the three remaining nights. Tickets are at DisneyWorld.com/Halloween or by phone at 407-934-7639.

Tropical Americas Loses Its 2027 Date on Disney's Website
Disney updated its official Coming to the Parks page this week, and the 2027 opening year for Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom is no longer there. The updated copy names the land's attractions — Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, and El Carrusel de los Animalitos — for the first time on that page, but strips the date entirely. The same page update simultaneously added 2027 EPCOT festival dates, so this is a current, actively maintained page.
The 2027 reference still exists on the Disney Parks Blog in an April 2026 post that hasn't been updated. Sources familiar with the project tell WDWMAGIC the timeline has always been described internally as aggressive for a land of this scope — 11 acres, two headline attractions, a carousel, dining, and retail. Construction progress has been solid, but hitting 2027 remains a tight target. It may be a simple omission. It may not be.

The Magic of Disney Animation: Hours and Easter Eggs
The Magic of Disney Animation opens at Hollywood Studios on September 14. Operating hours for the opening weeks run broadly to park close, then shift to 10am–6pm from September 28 — missing the first hour of the park day and closing well before park close. That's a standard pattern for walk-through and show-based experiences once early demand settles.
Ahead of the opening, Walt Disney Imagineering released a full Easter egg walkthrough covering details most guests would miss: the paint chandelier in the reception area whose colors shift with the lighting, Mary Blair artwork that physically blooms out of its frame in Drawn to Wonderland, MagicBand+ interactions with Baymax and Maximus, Stitch hiding in an animator's office, and Olaf seated on a copy of The Illusion of Life on stage in Olaf Draws!. A full pre-opening walkthrough video is also available.

Disney CFO on Pricing, Attendance, and What's Coming Next
CFO Hugh Johnston addressed park ticket pricing at a Goldman Sachs conference on September 9, separating ticket price increases — which he described as modest — from per-cap spending growth, which he said is driven largely by guests choosing Lightning Lane, VIP tours, and premium dining. Domestic attendance was up 3% year over year last quarter. Johnston also ran through upcoming projects by name: Tropical Americas and Monstropolis both targeting 2027, Avengers Campus further out, and the Disney Believe cruise ship. His framing: new capacity is the answer to the value question guests are asking.

Drone Patent, Jollywood Dining, Typhoon Lagoon, and Candlelight Packages
A few other items worth a note: Disney filed a broader continuation patent for its drone show system, dropping the requirement for a themed outer shell and focusing instead on the onboard real-time script-switching technology that keeps individual drones on course mid-show. Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby takes reservations starting September 17 for select Jollywood Nights dates November 7 through January 5 — a ticketed dining add-on with an event-exclusive menu. Typhoon Lagoon closed September 9 for its seasonal refurbishment with no confirmed reopening date, leaving Blizzard Beach as the sole operating water park. And the full Candlelight Processional dining package guide is live, with 17 restaurants and prices from $43 to $109 per adult — bookings open October 14.
