Encanto Show Building Gets Its First Rockwork Framework at Tropical Americas
Aerial photos from @bioreconstruct on X show framework mesh now sitting on top of the Encanto show building roof at Animal Kingdom's Tropical Americas site. This steel and mesh structure is the first stage of what becomes sculpted rockwork — the method Disney uses to make a show building disappear into the surrounding landscape from ground level. The framework follows the roofline along the front edge, the portion most exposed from within the land. Meanwhile, the concrete berm walls in front of the building — which will eventually support Casa Madrigal rising above Pueblo Esperanza — continue to grow in height, with multiple wall levels now visible consistent with the concept art's layered hillside. Tropical Americas is on track for a 2027 opening.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026: Opening Night Gone, Six Dates Now Sold Out
Opening night — August 7 at $159 — has sold out, bringing the total to six gone dates. October 31, August 14, 11, 13, and 18 had already gone before it. The cheapest night still available is August 21 at $139. If last year's pattern holds, all remaining August dates could be sold out by around August 26, with September following quickly after. Monsters Inc. Coaster Steel Framework Now Visible Above the Tree Line
The Monsters, Inc. flying door coaster's structural steel is now high enough to clear the Hollywood Studios tree line and is visible from the parking lot. New photos show vertical columns, horizontal beams, and cross-bracing across a large footprint, with the black track support columns from recent weeks now surrounded by the outer building frame. Coaster track pieces are already on-site awaiting installation. Roof work and wall cladding are the next major phases. Disney has not set an opening date for Monstropolis, but D23 on August 15 is the most likely moment for a new update.

The Magic of Disney Animation Opens September 14 at Hollywood Studios
The Magic of Disney Animation has an opening date: September 14, 2026. The building, modeled on the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, brings together several distinct experiences — an Audio-Animatronics Olaf hosting drawing classes led by real Disney Animation artists, character meet-and-greets themed around the animation pipeline, an immersive Alice in Wonderland playground for young children, and a dedicated theater showing the Emmy-winning short Once Upon A Studio with enhanced effects. Josh Gad recorded original dialogue for the Olaf figure. The attraction completes the Walt Disney Studios transformation at Hollywood Studios.

D23 2026: Show Floor Details, Full Schedule, and Neil Patrick Harris Confirmed
D23 2026's show floor is now fully mapped out — and it's the largest in event history. The headline for parks fans is the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, described as Disney's biggest Imagineering showcase ever, which is where progress on Villains Land, Cars Land, Monsters Inc., and Tropical Americas is most likely to surface ahead of the Saturday evening Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase. Neil Patrick Harris will host that showcase at the Honda Center on August 15 at 7pm, with new Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum expected in a supporting role — a structural departure from how Josh D'Amaro ran previous D23 parks presentations. The full panel schedule is out across five stages, with highlights including Joe Rohde discussing Floating Mountains, a Zootopia 10th anniversary panel, Percy Jackson Season 3, and the Jonas Brothers recording a live podcast episode. Jollywood Nights and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Tickets Now On Sale
Both major holiday ticketed events opened to all guests on July 16. Jollywood Nights 2026 runs November 7 through January 5 — the first time the event extends into January — across 15 nights, up from 13 in 2025. Lowest price is $169 on November 16. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2026 runs November 8 through December 22 across 25 nights, starting from $189. In 2025, the Very Merry opening night sold out on September 10 — two months before the event. Annual Passholders and DVC Members save $10 per ticket on select dates for both events.

Sassagoula Boat Service Suspended for Old Key West Guests Starting July 20
