Citizen is now the Official Timepiece of the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort and Marvel New Media's Creative Space.

As part of the long-term promotional alliance, the Citizen logo will be displayed on the Main Street U.S.A. clocks in Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort. The logo will also be featured on select FastPass clocks displaying return times for park attractions at both resorts. Additionally, the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort will begin offering Citizen timepieces featuring designs unique to Disney Parks.

The Citizen logo is already now in place on recent Times Guides at the Walt Disney World parks.

This new relationship also names Citizen as the Official Timekeeper of runDisney race event weekends at Walt Disney World Resort, with race clocks bearing the Citizen logo at the beginning and end of the races, and a sponsor of Disney Dreamers Academy, which helps exceptional young people to dream big.

"Disney is honored to align with Citizen, a stalwart brand that has stood the test of time." said Carlos Castro, vice president of Disney Corporate Alliances. "At Disney Parks, every minute is magic. So, it's appropriate that our Guests will have access to one of the world's greatest names in timepieces, as they celebrate their time together creating memories with friends and family."

The promotional alliance also includes, for 2018, sponsorship of Marvel Minute and other digital content on Marvel.com that is in development at Marvel New Media's Creative Space.

Citizen will also become a red-carpet sponsor for the highly anticipated Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War film in April 2018, creating memorable experiences surrounding the release of this milestone movie.

"To engage with the legacy of the Disney Parks at such a vital time in their history, and Marvel with the blockbuster success of Marvel Studios' 'Black Panther' and the much-awaited launch of Avengers: Infinity War, is a wonderful way to celebrate our 100-Year Anniversary," said Jeffrey Cohen, President of Citizen Watch America.

I was under the impression that the watch industry is dying...

Here is my Citizen Eco Drive Mickey watch I have been wearing for about 10 years. I love it, especially because it was a gift from my wife. I have worn out a couple of bands and did have to replace the eco drive battery once (yes they do have a eco drive specific battery, called an energy cell capacitor, but it lasts a long long time).

This is a poor example because of the quality but here's the BTM one. You can go into Google Maps and go around the park to see the previous ones that way.

Do we know if the watches will be available online?

Does anyone have a before pic of the clocks?

Does anyone else remember the art watches with the fun dials they used to have in the parks in the early 2000s? Those were so fun and unique - a lot of the watches currently in the parks feel cookie-cutter. I mean, I would fork over decent money for a wrist-sized replica of the Main Street clock dials or the Cinderella Castle clock. I'm surprised Disney went with Citizen though, in all honesty. They just released a really unique collaboration with Nixon for Mickey's 90th after all.

Its an ironic match indeed.

They had Citizen signage on all of the mile markers for the WineDineHalf a week ago. Unfortunately, and oddly enough, several of them were placed over top of the actual digital clock, meaning I as a runner could not see my time as I ran by. At mile 11, that gave me a very bad taste in my mouth for Citizen and I thought "I'll never buy that crappy product" out of frustration.

I don't mind this, and I'm wearing a Citizen Mickey Mouse watch now, just wish they'd market a couple automatic watches and not just Eco-Drive time pieces.

PHOTOS - Disney and Citizen unveil new Mickey timepieces and in-park clock branding

CaptainAmericaMay 30, 2018

Has any product made its way into the parks yet? I don't see anything on ShopDisney.com.

Oh yeah, I was only going to the point that they were related organizations, nothing more than that. I will say that I have two of the many Citizen eco-drive Mickey Mouse watches, and find it to be pretty great in quality and build. The bracelet strap on one them is particularly impressive. Tight tolerances, brushed and polished combination in finish.

Yeah, I had done the research and found that it was a Miyota. But, again, even if Citizen owns the Miyota factory, as the watch is unbranded, there was no way to get a company's service department.
