Disney Experiences and FM have relaunched the Disney Wild About Safety program, refreshing one of the longest-running safety education initiatives in theme park history.
The updated program features new character artwork, revised educational materials, and updated visual storytelling. Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King return as the faces of the program, delivering safety messages through tip cards, activity books, and videos used across Disney's domestic and international theme parks, resorts, and cruise ships.
Disney Wild About Safety first launched in 2003 with a straightforward goal: make safety education engaging for families. Since then, it has reached more than a billion children and families worldwide.
"Our collaboration with FM enhances the program's mission, adding valuable industry support as Disney continues to provide guests tips for staying safe while enjoying the magic of our theme parks and cruise ships — and at home," said Greg Hale, vice president and chief safety officer at Disney Experiences.
FM is a mutual commercial property insurance company with nearly 200 years of history. The company brings scientific research and engineering expertise to property risk management.
The Walt Disney Company and FM have worked together for more than 75 years. When Disney planned its first theme park in the 1940s, FM was the insurer it turned to. Disneyland Resort opened in Anaheim, California in 1955, and FM has supported Disney's theme park operations ever since.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Disney to help prepare its guests so they can enjoy the vacation of a lifetime," said Randy Hodge, chief operating officer of FM.
Disney Wild About Safety content appears throughout:
- Disney theme parks (domestic and international)
- Disney resorts
- Disney Cruise Line ships
Materials include tip cards, activity books, and video content aimed at helping families practice safe behavior — both at Disney destinations and at home.
