During this afternoon's 2022 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Disney CEO Bob Chapek committed to investigate the possibility of bringing back the now discontinued Disney Premier Passport.

Chapek's comments were in response to a question from a frequent shareholder meeting attendee, and Bob said that it is the company's goal to eliminate points of "friction" to the guest experience.

Introduced in 2010, The Disney Premier Passport came out of a request to then CEO Bob Iger during a previous shareholder meeting. The Premier Pass gave admission to most gated experiences at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. It was priced at more than $2000 at the time of its ending.

The pass was discontinued alongside the removal of Disneyland Resort's annual pass program as the reopening of the resort from the COVID-19 shutdown.

With the significant changes that Disney has made to its pass programs on both coasts, it isn't clear how any type of combined pass could work, but it will be interesting to see if anything comes from this in the future.

We actually had 5 show up over the course of a year addressed to my wife. We have no idea why but they kept sending them to her.

Don’t forget that fancy magnet they sent out…. That’s probably why it’s such a loss. Can’t be giving away a magnet in a fancy cardboard box for people only throwing down $2k a year!

I mean I had one the last year you could and it was literally a card with 2 barcodes. I can understand if they don't want to offer it but why pretend it costs them so much money?

Further proof that Iger shouldn’t be in charge of theme parks.

Bad timing when Breeze Airways is about to be a more common thing.

Here’s the problem Disney is having as they increase the price, people are expecting more of it and cutting back on expenses. On the expectations, how many people outside of hard core Disney people did you see complain about FP? Sure some thought it was cumbersome but most GP didn’t think it was evil, it was a perk. Now I would say a large minority if not majority of GP I know hate G+ even though it’s not really different, they hate it because they have to pay for it. Another poster recently pointed out that Disney is flummoxed why lately they have been besieged by far more park commandos, I’m not, Disney has jacked up the prices so much people feel the need to squeeze everything out of their day and by cutting back hours they’ve made it physically possible to do so (even I a dedicated park commando cannot survive a week of summer DL 16 hour days, but 10-12 hour days with a few 14 hour days mixed in most can do.) This too will be the case with APs, if you charge the monthly salary of the top 28% ($6000) people are going to expect free parking, no reservations, no black outs and perks, I cannot believe that will sell at all. Also charge that much and the few that do buy will be commandos and not wait in long lines for meme food or merchandise but instead do attractions to squeeze value out of something so expensive. The other issue I see is people aren’t spending on the ancillaries, Disney continues to change deluxe rooms to DVC which is far less profitable for them if they could regularly fill those rooms. They have also been extremely slow on fully staffing and opening signature restaurants. This is all a sign we are nearing the end to increases in per cap spending, we have cut so deep, we are cutting bone. This goes for all tickets. It’s so obvious the current parks are a deck of cards waiting to collapse.

Yeah, they renamed all of the AP's stupid names.

NaplesgolferApr 03, 2022

Only one way to get that pass and that feature. 33

Of course, making the Premear Pass exempt from Park Reservations would be a HUUGE selling point... and I imagine they could jack the price up another $500 bucks each.

matt9112Apr 03, 2022

I think the issue with the dual park pass is that I "think" opinion here. At the price point you would be asking you wouldn't be able to force the reservation system on to it.

payloadApr 02, 2022

Wonder if they will relist them for sale in late August/early September like rumors are suggesting...lol who am I kidding they probably won't for the next year or two.

HauntedPirateApr 01, 2022

Yep. It's currently the top AP in Florida.

TrainsOfDisneyApr 01, 2022

I didn’t realize the Incredi-pass was a real thing? Lol
