Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort are under cold weather advisories as Central Florida faces low temperatures this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties, effective from 1:00 am to 9:00 am EST on Tuesday, January 27. Wind chills could drop as low as 27 degrees during this period.
A more serious Freeze Watch takes effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, January 28 2026. Temperatures may fall to 30 degrees or below, particularly in outlying areas.
Early morning and late evening hours will be coldest. You'll want to dress in layers and bring a jacket, even if midday temperatures rise.
While the main parks remain open during cold weather, some outdoor entertainment may be modified or cancelled.
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Closing Due to Cold
Disney has announced that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed January 27 through January 29 due to the forecasted low temperatures.
The water park closure affects three days of operations as the cold weather system moves through Central Florida.
