Walt Disney World Theme Parks Under Flood Watch Due to Heavy Rain

The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida has issued a Flood Watch for the Walt Disney World area, including all of Orange and Osceola counties, effective from 9:57 AM to 8:00 PM EDT on July 15.

According to forecasters, an area of low pressure pushing inland from the east coast is expected to bring persistent bands of heavy showers and thunderstorms across Central Florida throughout the day.

Rainfall Forecast and Risk Areas

  • Expected rainfall: 1 to 3 inches
  • Localized totals: 4 to 7 inches possible
  • Flooding risk areas: Low-lying areas, urban streets, poor drainage zones, and small creeks or streams

The watch includes a wide portion of east central Florida, with counties of Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, and Brevard among those under alert. These regions encompass the Walt Disney World Resort and surrounding attractions.

Potential Impacts

  • Flash flooding in flood-prone or poorly drained urban areas
  • Rising water levels in streams, creeks, and retention ponds
  • Delays or disruptions to theme park operations and road travel due to standing water

Currently all Walt Disney World parks are operating normally.

I'm in the Panhandle. I suppose we'll get some of that rain this week.
Walt is angry and filling RoA back up

ETA: And if Walt never saw the Magic Kingdom why is his frozen head under the castle?
Shouldn't it be in the DL fire station?

Just musing

That’s not Walt. An AA of Tom Hanks as Walt would have been more convincing than that nightmare.
Good thing they drained RoA or we might be seeing some major flooding of Frontierland (sarcasm)
