A Severe Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Orange County and surrounding areas, including Lake Buena Vista and Walt Disney World, beginning 2:00 am through 9:00 am Tuesday, November 11.
What to Expect
- Wind chills could fall as low as 25°F early Tuesday morning.
- Actual air temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 30s across most of Central Florida.
- Gusty northwest winds up to 26 mph will make it feel significantly colder than the thermometer reading.
Affected Areas
The advisory includes:
- Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake Counties
- Coastal and Inland Volusia
- Northern and Southern Brevard
- Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties
Impacts
Wind chills near or below 30°F may cause hypothermia if you're outdoors for long periods without proper clothing. Those working outside overnight or early in the morning should wear layers and cover exposed skin.
Pets and sensitive plants should be brought inside. Residents should also protect exposed pipes in unheated areas.
Current Conditions
As of 6:24 am Monday, temperatures in Lake Buena Vista were 62°F, but it felt like 55°F due to strong winds. Conditions are expected to turn colder overnight, with Tuesday morning being the coldest of the week.
Looking Ahead
After Tuesday's cold start:
- Highs will slowly warm into the 60s and 70s through midweek.
- A steady warming trend will continue into the weekend, reaching upper 70s by Sunday.
