Walt Disney World could see record-breaking temperatures this week, with highs pushing close to 90°F across the resort before a cold front arrives late Thursday.
Record-challenging heat through Wednesday
The National Weather Service in Melbourne is forecasting upper 80s to near 90°F at interior locations through Wednesday - that's 10 to 13 degrees above the March average. Forecasters say temperatures could approach or break records at some locations across Central Florida.
Overnight lows will stay in the 60s, so mornings won't offer much relief before temperatures climb again.
Thursday: Cold front and storms
The record heat ends Thursday when a cold front pushes through Central Florida. Rain and storm chances jump to 40-60% Thursday, making it the roughest weather day of the stretch. Heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds are all possible ahead of the front.
Weekend: Cooler and unsettled
Behind the front, highs drop to the lower-to-mid 80s through the weekend. Rain chances stay elevated -- 20-40% Friday and Saturday, rising again to 40-60% Sunday and Monday. Overnight lows dip briefly to the upper 50s Friday night.
